Industrialization is a socioeconomic process that consists in the development of industries and

the emergence of technologies. The main factor that leads to the industrialization process is the

accumulation of capital by the bourgeoisie, which led to the creation of places that aim to produce some

product, having to hire workers, thus generating a hierarchical chain. As industry came to dominate the

economy, there was a process of urbanization and a constant demographic growth, since there were

families migrating to the cities to get a "job", thus causing an increase in the division of labor, which

aimed to increase productivity, always seeking to maximize profits. The first industrial revolution was

a great movement, at the beginning of the 18th century, in England. One of the main causes of this

revolution was the development of the steam engine, which was used both for the transportation of

objects and people, thus favoring a fast process of industrialization, since it aimed at obtaining and

investing a certain amount of capital. With this, there was a series of impacts due to this revolution, the

main ones were the consolidation of capitalism, the expansion of imperialism, the rural exodus and

urbanization, there were also a series of advances in the field of medicine, greater ease of transportation

and telecommunications, and a severe increase in production capacity.

In Brazil it was not very different from the revolution in England, but it happened late in the

Brazilian territory. At the beginning of the 20th century, there was a great emphasis on coffee, which

was the main means for the development of the Brazilian economy. There was a constant export of

coffee to other countries, which generated large profits that allowed investment in industry. there were

economic archipelagos in Brazil, the North was the largest producer of rubber, the Northeast produced

sugar cane, Coffee was produced by the Southeast and the South was more concerned with livestock.

Brazil was a large agro-exporter, which based its economy on its primary products, which was focused

on production and export. Brazil begins to focus on the process of industrialization during the Vargas

government, a base industry, which occurred in a very late way, which led to a great technological

dependence. As Brazil was a major trading partner of the United States, with the stock market crash,

the famous 1929 crisis, directly affected the Brazilian economy, since the United States was a major

consumer of Brazilian coffee, as Brazil continues producing coffee, but there was no consumer, thus

generating a crisis in the Brazilian territory.
