2. Connect the topology as shown below, and set all the devices as DHCP clients.

3. From PC, use Command Prompt and ping all the devices in the network. Make sure that the
ping succeed; otherwise check your settings
4. From PC, use Web Browser to access the Wireless Home Router using:
IP 192.168.10.1
User Name admin
Password admin
5. Go to  Administration  Router Access and change the password into cisco.
6. Try to access the Wireless Home Router with the new credentials.
7. Discussion Question:
a. What is APIPA and why it is used? Elaborate more.
b. What would happen if Maximum number of users in Table 1 was set to 4?
Answer here
a) APIPA is Automatic Private IP Addressing, it helps in assigning IP address
automatically when the device is unable to obtain it from the DHCP server. In such
a case, the device employs APIPA to assign itself a private IP address within a
specific range.
It is only used in home networks (or in offices), and it allows the devices to
establish network connectivity even in the absence of a DHCP server (where a
DHCP server may not be available or configured properly).

b) If the number of users was set to 4, then the router would be overloaded with the
more users than its configured limit. This would lead to network performance,
denied connections, slower data transfer speed and decreased overall network

efficiency.

8. Conclusion:
In lab 2 or Wireless Network Security I have learned about the following points-
1. Network Setup of Wireless Home Router with DHCP Server.
2. Wireless Basic settings with SSID 2.4GHz, 5G_1 and 5G_2 including its setting up of
security Mode, passphrase, and encryption.
3. Learned how to connect the tablet PC, Smartphone, Laptop, PC and printer with
the wireless home router (in DHCP server mode).
4. Pinging of all the devices to check whether they all are correctly pinged or not
5. Using Web browser to access the wireless home router remotely and how to
change the password of it.
