A very good morning to our beloved principal, Hj. Shaqir bin Shaib, dedicated teachers and fellow
friends. In conjunction with the National Day celebrations, I am honoured to present my speech entitled
“How to Show Our Patriotism for Malaysia”.
First of all, we should respect the National anthem. We should stand erect and appreciate the
lyrics as they are being sung or played. We should hold our head up high and sing with great spirit.
Second, we should learn the significance of the “Jalur Gemilang”; its colours, stars and stripes.
Let it wave proudly above our rooftops during national celebrations. Only then, can we come to
appreciate our country.
Then, read about the heroes who have served the country, for example Tun Dr. Mahathir
Mohamad and Tun Hussien Onn. Feel proud of their contributions and aspire to be like them.
Next, learn all you can about our colourful past. Visit historical sites and heritage towns. You
will beam with pride when you see the wonderful legacy of our wondrous country.
I hope this short speech would have made your heart burn with fervour for our beloved
country.
