REFLECTION NOTE on the Coaching and Mentoring by Dr. Cristy Reyes

in Planning for the Selection, Organization, Development, and
Use of Appropriate Teaching and Learning Resources
in Empowerment Technologies

I am immensely grateful for the valuable guidance and mentorship provided

by Dr. Cristy M. Reyes, my subject group head and a Master Teacher II, in planning
for the selection, organization, development, and use of appropriate teaching and
learning resources, including ICT, to address specific learning goals in the subject
Empowerment Technologies. Her expertise and support have significantly enriched
my teaching practices, making a positive impact on my students' learning
experiences.
Throughout our coaching and mentoring sessions, meetings, and LAC
(Learning Action Cell) sessions, Dr. Reyes demonstrated a profound understanding
of the subject matter and the diverse needs of our learners. She emphasized the
importance of purposeful resource selection to ensure that our teaching materials
aligned with specific learning objectives and catered to the various learning styles
within the classroom.
One of the key aspects of Dr. Reyes' guidance was her emphasis on leveraging
technology and integrating ICT into the teaching and learning process. She
consistently encouraged me to explore and incorporate digital resources that could
enhance student engagement and understanding. By using multimedia
presentations, interactive online tools, and educational apps, I was able to create a
dynamic and stimulating learning environment that resonated with the students and
facilitated their comprehension of complex concepts in Empowerment Technologies.
Moreover, Dr. Reyes emphasized the need for a diverse range of teaching
resources to accommodate the varying needs and interests of our students. She
introduced me to various educational platforms and repositories where I could access

a wide array of materials, such as e-books, videos, simulations, and real-world case
studies. By carefully selecting and organizing these resources, I could create
differentiated lesson plans that catered to both the academically advanced students
and those who required additional support.
Dr. Reyes also played a crucial role in guiding me towards developing my own
teaching resources. She encouraged me to design learning materials tailored to the
specific learning goals of the Empowerment Technologies curriculum. Through her
support and feedback, I gained confidence in creating custom worksheets, activities,
and project-based assessments that aligned with the subject's objectives and allowed
students to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios.
In our planning sessions, Dr. Reyes consistently emphasized the importance
of aligning teaching resources with the intended learning outcomes and the
broader goals of fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills
among students. Her insights helped me see the bigger picture and reminded me
that teaching is not merely about imparting information but nurturing well-
rounded individuals equipped for the challenges of the future.
Overall, the guidance and mentorship provided by Dr. Cristy M. Reyes have
been transformative for my teaching approach in Empowerment Technologies.
Through her expertise and unwavering support, I have learned to be more strategic
in my resource selection, organization, development, and integration of technology.
As a result, my students have benefitted from a more engaging and enriching
learning experience, which has positively impacted their understanding of the
subject and their overall academic growth. I am truly thankful for the opportunities
she provided for professional growth and look forward to continuing to learn from
her wisdom and experience.
