A. Greetings
Good morning, class!
Good Morning Ma’am Abe!
Let us pray first.
Let us all stand, please lead the prayer
Yanna.

Dear Heavenly Father Dear Heavenly Father

Thank you for the hundred folds Thank you for the hundred folds
blessings blessings
Help us to Multiply love and Help us to Multiply love and
respect respect

In Jesus Name AMEN. In Jesus Name AMEN.

Thank you for that.

So again, Good Morning Class.

Please clean up any paper or candy wrappers
lying around before taking your seats so that
your chairs are neatly arranged. I want you
everyone to take a seat at the count of five.
Alright.

How are you, class?

We’re fine, Ma’am
Good to know.

Checking of Attendance…
(Students will tell who’s absent for the day.)

B. Review
Okay Class…What was your last topic
did you tackled, last meeting?
Anyone? Who can tell/share?
Ma’am. We discussed about Properties of
Inequalities….

Okay…can u tell me, what are the properties

of inequalities?

Yes, Clyde?

Ma’am… we have four property of

inequalities, the first one is Addition Property
of Inequalities, the second is Subtraction
Property of Inequalities, the third is
Multiplication Property of Inequalities, the
fourth is Division Property of Inequalities.

-Very well said.

C. Motivation
Okay class, before anything else, let's
have first an ice breaker to lift up your
energy.

Are you ready?

Okay, kindly guess the Jumbled letters.

First…

OLSNGIV Ma’am, Solving.

Okay, Very good.

Next…

INLRAE Linear…
Great.

How about the third one?

IENQAUILTEIS
Right, Very good. Inequalities…

Lastly…
ENO
RAVIABEL
Ma’am, One Variable.
Alright. Excellent!

D. Lesson proper
“So be with me this morning class as I discuss
to you on how to solve linear inequalities in
one variable”
“Now class, let’s proceed first to the
definition of linear inequalities in one
variable.”

Presentation….

Who wants to read?

(One of the students raised his hand to read the

definition)

(Students listening carefully to the discussion)

Solving linear inequalities is also like solving

linear equation in one variable.

Wo wants to read the… Rules for Solving

Inequalities

Yes? Go ahead Pete.

 When we add, subtract, multiply or

divide any non-zero number on both
sides of the inequality sign, we don't
have to change the inequality sign.
 When we multiply or divide some
negative number on both side of the
equal sign, we have to reverse the sign
Alright, Thank you.
Class, take note the rules of solving
inequalities so that it will be easily to you on
how to solve its given equation. Noted, ma’am.

Good.

For Example, 1:

2(x-3) ≥ 3x – 4

Solution:

2(x-3) ≥ 3x-4

2x–6 ≥ 3x–4

Subtract 3x on both sides, we get

(students listen carefully)
2x–6–3x ≥ 3x–4–3x

- x-6 ≥ – 4

Add 6 on both sides, we get

- x-6 + 6 ≥ – 4+6

-x≥2

Multiply by negative on both sides

x≤-2

So, any real number lesser than or equal to -2

is a solution of the given inequality.

Yes ma’am…
Are you following me class?

Just raise your hand if you have a questions or

clarification

to ask class to clarify to your queries class.

Example 2:
2(x+2) ≤ x – 5

Who wants to try?

Solution:
Yes, Michael?
2(x+2) ≤ x – 5

2x+4 ≤ x – 5

Subtracting x and 4 on both sides

x+4 ≤ – 5
Subtract 4 on both sides, we get
x+4-4 ≤ –5-4
x≤-9

Great.
Therefore, the solution set of the given
inequality is (-∞, -9)

Example 3:

(1/3) x + 2/3 < (5/6) x – 1

Yes, Adam? Solution:

(1/3) x + 2/3 < (5/6) x – 1

(x/3) + 2/3 < (5x/6) – 1

Subtract 5x/6 and 2/3 on both sides.

(x/3) - (5x/6) < – 1 - (2/3)

(2x-5x)/6 < -5/3

Multiply by 6 on both sides.

-3x < -10

Dividing by -3 on both sides, we get.

x > 10/3

Excellent.

So, the solution is any real number which are

greater than 10/3.

Did you get it?

Any question, class? Yes, ma’am.
None so far.
Very good.

E. Generalization

Okay class, once again…What is the form that

we put in a Linear Inequality? Ma’am, ax+b ¿c.

Right. Very good.

Again, what are the rules for solving linear
inequalities?

Yes, Michael?  When we add, subtract, multiply or

divide any non-zero number on both
sides of the inequality sign, we don't
have to change the inequality sign.
 When we multiply or divide some
negative number on both side of the
equal sign, we have to reverse the sign

That’s right. Thank you.

F. Application
Direction: Solve the inequality and
graph the solution. Write in ½
crosswise sheet of paper.

TRY THIS: 0 ≤ 2z+5 < 8

You have 2 mins… to answer...

Start answering now class...

After 2 mins…
Okay let’s answer, exchange your
paper to your seatmates. Faster
class…
Are done exchanging your paper
class? Yes, ma’am

Okay, what is your answer?

Solution:
0 ≤ 2z+5 < 8

Subtract 5 on each side, we get

0 ≤ 2z+5 < 8
0 – 5 ≤ 2z+5 – 5 < 8 - 5
- 5 ≤ 2z < 3

Divided by 2 on each side, we get

-5/2 ≤ z < 3/2

Correct.
Very good, class!
Therefore, the solution set of the given
inequality is (-5/2, 3/2).

IV. Evaluation
Direction: Solve the following inequality and graph the solution. Write in 1 whole
sheet of paper

1. 3(x-3) ≥ 3x – 2
2. 4(x-3) ≥ 3x – 4
V. Agreement
Answer the following solution in 1 whole sheet of paper.
1. Solve and graph the solution set: 5x+7<22.
2. Solve and graph the solution set: −2(x+8) +6≥20.
