PAST SIMPLE (QUÁ KHỨ ĐƠN)

- Used to describe an action that happened before the present time and is no
longer happening.

Structure
Affirmative S + V2 + O
S + DID NOT + V (base form) + O
Negative
S + WAS/WERE + NOT + O
Did + S + V (base form) + O?
Question
Was/Were + S + O ?
E.g:
My mother went to the supermarket yesterday.
Anna was not at school last Monday.
Did you forget to turn off the lights?
Dấu hiệu nhận biết: yesterday, last week, last year, last month, two days
ago, in 2021,…
 Các động từ có âm cuối là “t” hoặc “d”  -ed đọc thành âm /id/
E.g:
Want  wanted
Need  needed
Test  tested
End  ended
 Các động từ khác:
- Đối với các động từ kết thúc bằng âm vô thanh (sờ vào cổ không thấy rung khi
nói)  -ed đọc thành âm /t/
