4. Post the three (3) stories consecutively and track their engagement in 24 hours by filling in the table below.
Issues Reactions Views Shares Comments (Optional)
Issue #1 15 92 0
Issue #2 19 121 1
Issue #3 16 98 0

5. In at least three (3) sentences, answer the following questions:

o How would you interpret if a specific issue gets lower traction than others? Exemplify using your posts
and their engagement.
- If a specific issue gets lower traction than others, it could mean that it is not as relevant or important
to the audience or that the post was not effectively communicated. It could also mean that the topic is
already saturated in the media or that the audience has become desensitized to it.

o Can you gather the same amount of traction if this is done in person for 24 hours? Elaborate.
- It is unlikely that the same amount of traction can be gathered if this is done in person for 24 hours.
In-person engagement is limited to those who are physically present, whereas online engagement
can reach a much wider audience.
Furthermore, online engagement allows for easy sharing and dissemination of information, which can
lead to a snowball effect in terms of engagement. In contrast, in-person engagement may not have
the same level of amplification unless attendees actively share the information with their own
networks.
Overall, while in-person engagement can be effective in certain contexts, online engagement has the
potential to reach a much wider audience and generate greater traction due to its ease of sharing and
amplification.
o Would you consider this promotion of social issues slacktivism? Justify.
- It would not be fair to consider the promotion of social issues such as the drug war, SOGIE Bill, and
jeepney phaseout as slacktivism solely based on posting it through Facebook stories. While posting on
social media can be a form of slacktivism if it requires little effort or sacrifice, it is important to consider
the context and effort to put into the promotion of these issues. If the individual actively engages with the
issue beyond just posting on social media, such as attending rallies or donating to organizations, then it
would not be fair to label them as slacktivists. Ultimately, the effectiveness of online activism in
promoting social change is debatable, but it is important to recognize that not all online activism is
slacktivism.
