LYRA DELA ROSA (11917592) BENIRE 2

A Reflection Paper on the Benire 2 Session

The Benire 2 session helped me gain awareness of my worth as a human being.

Throughout the activity we were told to express our thoughts, feelings, talents and skills. This
practice genuinely helped me discover things about myself that I was not initially aware of. It
was more special considering we had to share these parts of ourselves to our group, and everyone
was very encouraging of each other despite being complete strangers. I was able to affirm that
these talents, skills and abilities are gifts from God and we should be honing it throughout our
journey as a student and towards our career paths. I learned that God has a plan for us and that
we are capable of using these gifts for His kingdom.

In terms of insights and realizations, I think the three main points of the Benildean
Expressions are interconnected with each other, especially in the subject of building our career
paths. Our faith can lead us to be excellent in our service to the community through our career
which gives us the obligation to be socially responsible.

I can live out being Creative and Innovative by utilizing my creative knowledge in my
future job. As an interior design student, we are often taught to be innovative in our designs
through space solutions such as encouraging sustainability and incorporating universal design. I
believe I can make use of this expression in that sense. I can also utilize it in my daily activities. I
can be Socially Responsible and Professionally Excellent by being considerate of the
community. I can apply this by contributing to environmental cleanliness or advocating for a
better society. This can also be applicable towards my school group activities where I can
practice my social skills and contributions. Lastly, I can be Appreciative of Individual Worth by
acknowledging my capabilities that are uniquely different from others. I tend to compare myself
with other people and put myself down because I always thought someone is always going to be
better than me. But I have come to realize that believing in myself and my worth is what will
make me do my best and appreciate my own.
