A: Alibi –

Cinema You robbed a bank yesterday but you told the police that you went to the cinema.
Work with your partner to create an alibi. Here are some questions the police may ask:

• Where did you meet? WE MET .. IN FRONT AT THE CINEMA/ IN THE PARK/AT SCHOOL/...
• When did you meet? WE MET IN THE MORNING/AFTERNOON/EVENING...
• What were you wearing? WE WERE WEARING .. A T SHIRT/PANTS/SHORTS/SKIRT/DRESS/..
• What did you do before/after the cinema? BEFORE WE TALKED ON THE PHONE/ USED THE
INTENET /PLAYED GAMES/ After ...WE WENT SHOPPING/ LIBRARY/ EAT PIZZA...
• What film did you see? WE WATCHED ... COMEDY/ROMANCE/HORROR/ANIMATION..
• What was it about? IT WAS ABOUT.. A FUN/ EXCITING/ BORING/ AMAZING.... STORY
• Can you describe the main characters? THEY WERE... INTERING/ SURPRISING/..
• What did you do after the cinema? WE WENT.. HOME/ TO MY FRIEDN’S HOUSE/
SUPERMAKET/MALL/ CLUB/...

A: Investigation

You have two or three suspects. A witness saw them at the scene of the crime but they say
they went to the cinema. Ask them questions about their day together. If there are any
differences in their stories, then you know they are lying. Example questions:

• Where did you meet?


• When did you meet?
• What was your friend wearing?
• What did you do before/after the cinema?
• What can you tell me about the film?

Write notes about what other questions you should ask.
