I.OBJECTIVES

D. Discussing new Historical criticism (also known as historicism or higher criticism) refers to
concepts and the study of literary texts in terms of their historical origins and development
practicing new within those contexts. It is a branch of criticism that investigates the origins
skills of ancient texts in order to understand "the world behind the text" including
facts about the author’s life and the historical and social circumstances of the
time.
