-Can only be allowed under a pitched roof and must be housed within the roof structure.

-Allowable floor area for the attic is a maximum of 30% of the immediate floor area below and within the main building line.
-Ventilation : 10% of attic floor area (in accordance with SBO, 1994)
-The lower roof structure must sit on the roof beam.
-The staircase can be excluded from the 30% floor area calculation. However, the landing of the stairs to the attic floor must
be the same width as the staircase.
-To maintain uniform roof line, façade and elevations, renovation for attic floor is only permitted in existing semi-detached
and terrace houses if it involves a pair of semi-detached or the whole row of terrace houses.
