the learners did their reading work.
Ask the students questions about the novel in general
linking back to the previous chapters to know if they read
the novel during the course of the year and have an
understanding of the previous work done.

19/09 Tuesday Revise the homework of the students at beginning of the
lesson and what they did the previous day.
Discuss chapters 29-34.
Ask the students in class what they found relevant in
these chapters and what caught their eye.
Have a discussion about this.

20/09 Wednesday Revise and mark homework and give them a summary of
what they did the previous day.
Discuss chapters 35-39.
In-class activity & Homework: Do the questions of
chapters 35-39.

21/09 Thursday Revise and mark the homework of the previous day and
mark
Have a discussion about the answers and additional
information while having a class discussion.
Analyse Tris’s character in depth, Discuss the factions of
each main character in the novel, have a discussion
about what faction each student will choose if they were
one of the characters.
In-class activity and homework: Give them their recess
homework and ask them to do it.

2. Discuss the obvious problems with having people restricted to just one faction. Be
thorough and thoughtful. Use specifics from the story.

3. Having now finished the book, which faction would you choose and why? You cannot
be factionless or Divergent. Analyse all of the factions and explain why or why not
they would be a good fit for you.
