Materials and Tools


 4 ply yarn Alize Cotton Gold 330m/100g (3.53 Oz / 361 yds) mixture of cotton and
acrylic yarn: yellow, orange.
 Crochet hook size 2.00 mm
 Fiberfill for stuffing
 Safety eyes 8 mm in diameter
 Sewing needle, pins
Size: The duck is approximately 9 cm/3.5 inches tall using the materials stated in the
pattern.
Abbreviations:
R – round or row
sc – single crochet
inc – increase (make two single crochet in one stitch)
dec - decrease (two stitches crochet together with a sc)
ch – chain
(sc, inc) x n - repeat those in brackets n times
(~) – number of stitches done in this particular round

Note:
Parts are worked in continuous rounds with no chain one stitch at beginning of round. It is
important to mark the beginning of round with a stitch marker.

Head (make one in yellow yarn)


Stuff as you go. The head is crocheted from top to bottom.

Place the safety eyes between rounds 12 and 13 with an
interspace of 9 stitches. Insert the first eye between
stitches 16 and 17, insert the second eye between
stitches 25 and 26.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Using yarn needle, weave
the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining
stitch and pull it tight. Hide yarn ends.
Body (make one in yellow yarn)
The body is crocheted from bottom to top.

Stuff the wings lightly. Flatten the wing and close
the opening with 4 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail
for sewing.

Legs (make two in orange yarn)


R 1: Magic ring and 6 sc into it (6)

R 3 - 4: 8 sc (8)
Stuff the legs lightly. Flatten the leg and close the
opening with 4 sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for
sewing.

Tail (make one in yellow yarn)

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff the tail.

Assembly

1. Center the opening of the body between rounds 19 and 20 of the head. Sew them
together.

2. Sew the legs between round 3 and 4 to the bottom of the body.

3. Sew the wings to either sides of the body (to the last row of the body)

4. Pin the tail onto the back of the body over rounds 4 and 8. Once pinned, sew around the
rim. The tail should help the duck stand.

5. Embroider beak between eyes with the help of a needle and orange yarn. The width of
the beak is 3 stitches. Make 7 - 8 horizontal stitches, inserting and bringing up the needle
in the same hole between rounds 12 and 13. Wind the yarn around these stitches. Hide
yarn ends.
