are basically waste management policies

waste recycling practices and sound
disposal of following wastes:

Ÿ Electronic - E-waste (Management) Rules, 2016 has been

mandatory from April 2018. As per latest amendment Nov 22, 100+
products have been added including spare parts, consumables &
accessories. Updated guidelines are mandatory from 1st April 2023
onwards. Validity - 5 years

Ÿ Plastic - Plastics Waste Management Rules, 2016 has been

mandatory from July 2022. PWM guidelines are applicable for plastic
packaging. Validity - 1 year.

Ÿ Battery - Battery Waste Management Rules, 2020 is applicable to

all types batteries regardless of chemistry, shape, volume, weight,
material compositionand use Validity - 5 years
Ÿ BIS – ISI (Indian Standards Institute)

Cement, Steel products, Tubes, Medical Equipment, Electrical

Products, Appliances, Chemicals & Fertilizers applicable on Indian &
Foreign Manufacturers

Ÿ BIS – CRS (Compulsory Registration Scheme)

Electronic & IT Equipment applicable on Indian & Foreign manufacturers

Ÿ WPC (Wireless Planning & Coordination)

WiFi & Bluetooth enabled devices

Ÿ LMPC (Legal Metrology Packaged Commodity)

Applicable for Importers, Manufacturers and Re-packers for packaged

commodities and goods. Registration issued by Ministry of Consumer
Affairs for packaging details on the product.
