3. New Features in the EcoStruxure Building Operation

v3.0.2 Release

3.1 Device Administrator

This release introduces a further enhancement to the new Device Administrator introduced in
v3.0.1. The DA now also supports ‘Applying a hotfix’, consequently there will only be the one
version of DA which supports the following options:
• New database applies a new database
• Upgrade database upgrades from one release to another later release
• Apply hotfix used to apply a hot fix or a maintenance release to the same release
• Get backup set from device

Hotfixes from v3.0.2 and later will consist of a file that is only used with the new device
administrator, (do not attempt to install the hotfix by running the file).
When the ‘Apply hotfix’ is selected the user is presented with a dialogue box where the
required hotfix file can be loaded, this is then applied to the SmartX server.
Hotfixes will continue to be provided by PSS using the existing hotfix process.

Note: Currently an internet connection is required to validate the integrity of the hotfix file when
loading the file into DA, this is being amended for the next release. However until then an
internet connection will be required to apply this maintenance release to a v3.0.2 system.

3.2 Bluetooth support for IP Controllers

The WorkStation has been enhanced to provide support for application images and
configurable menus that can be uploaded to controllers via Bluetooth. If you wish to use
Bluetooth connectivity to manage images and configuration menus, these must have been
created in v3.0.2

5. Important Engineering Information

There is no new important engineering information for this release, please refer to the EBO
3.0.1 release note section 6 for details of existing engineering information, however there is an
update to the graphic section 6.4 copied below for convenience with the additional text in italic.

6.4 Graphics Update

The JavaScript engine in the Graphics Editor and WorkStation was updated in release 1.8.
This has a number of advantages; bugs fixed, better performance, stronger compliance with
the JavaScript standard and better compatibility with the JavaScript engines that are used by
web browsers. The stronger compliance with the standard may result in compatibility issues
with JavaScript code written in older versions of EcoStruxure Building Operation. The old
version was sometimes more forgiving when running JavaScript’s that were not written
correctly.
To be able to open Graphis with unsecure content, you must turn on “Enable WebStation to
use unsafe string evaluated JavaScript methods like ‘eval’ ” in Security Settings.'
