Closing ceremony
The closing ceremony of AMIGMUN 2023 marked
a triumphant end to the event. We were introduced
to some fantastic delegates through witty speeches,
strategic plans and clever comments during the
event. To felicitate these delegates various titles and
awards were given during the ceremony by our
beloved principal ma'am Ms. Arti Chopra and chef
de cabinet Ms. Kusum Kapoor.
In her speech Principal ma’am thanked our chef de
cabinet Ms. Kusum Kapoor for being the brain
behind AMIGMUN and praised the efforts of the
society as a whole, and wished all the best to
everyone present.
Kusum ma’am presented a report of the 3-day long conference and applauded the
delegates for their efforts and participation in AMIGMUN. She expressed her thanks
to alumnus and executive board for handling their responsibilities well and running
the event smoothly along the teacher in-charges for their guidance and help to make
this event a huge success.
The curtains fell on AMIGMUN'23 with a resounding thump of the gavel by the
secretary general Gatik Yadav. As the echoes of the final moments faded, a wave of
wistfulness washed over the hearts of all participants, etching unforgettable memories
of the event in their souls.

MUN changing lives: From shy to fly

By Keerti Arora (XII-H)

Have you ever seen a shy kid bloom into a

confident chatterbox overnight? No, it's not a
magical potion or an alien abduction scenar-
io; it's the marvelous MUN effect! Model
United Nations, the diplomatic playground
for teens, has a secret superpower - it turns
shy kids into unstoppable talkers. You know
MUNs are working their magic when the shy
kid walks into committee sessions with a
newfound swagger.

Forget shuffling feet and avoiding eye con-

tact; these kids now strut like diplomats
walking the red carpet! Confidence becomes their plus one at MUN conferences. Did you hear about the shy
kid who finally decided to speak up at MUN? Yeah, they broke the sound barrier. MUN provides a safe envi-
ronment for kids to shed their social apprehensions, as they embrace public speaking, negotiating, and collab-
orating.

Remember the time when introverted kids were called "dorks" or "nerds"? Well, those days are gone! In the
MUN world, intellect is celebrated, and with wit and charm, these kids can now defuse tense situations faster
than you can say “point of information". Some introverted kids can be really quiet but once they put on that
formal attire for MUN, they become as confident as Tony Stark in his iron man suit. Dressing the part can be a
magical confidence booster, transforming these young souls from everyday students to extraordinary diplo-
mats.

Knock, knock! Who's there? The introverted kid with a sense of humor! MUN encourages participants to en-
gage in light-hearted banter, inject humor into their speeches. Humor not only breaks the ice but also builds
lasting connections among delegates. Just like Robin has Batman, MUN kids have mentors – experienced del-
egates who guide them on their journey. These mentors provide invaluable tips, support, and encouragement,
helping introverted kids unleash their potential.

So there you have it, may your journey be filled with laughter, growth, and endless joy. Until next time, happy
MUN-ing!

COMMITTEE CALLING

UN General Assembly Agenda: Discussing the

situation in Ukraine in the

The rainy weather marked the late beginning of the committee,
kicking off with a conflicting discussion based upon the draft
resolution. Primarily, the draft resolution was decided for South
Africa, UK, Russia and Kenya, after which a lively unmoderated
caucus took place for 10 minutes to finalize the draft resolution.
Witnessing delegates uniting and collaborating to form a cohesive
bloc was truly captivating. Later South Africa merged their draft
resolution with Russian federation and Kenya merged with UK.
The cancellation of the 2 merged draft resolutions distressed
everyone. Rushing of the delegates at first puzzled but later
convinced the EB to declare the order of draft resolutions. Illustration by Khushi Mehta (XI-D)

contested clause. From the debate and discussions presented -Delegate of Ghana

Czech Republic was removed from the sponsors list of USA-EU
alliance.
The committee went wild (for real) as USA lost 2 of its sponsors
leaving USA and El Salvador to defend their DR on their own.
Despite the delegates being on edge, they came up with astute
solutions and a total of 4 draft resolutions. Taking the “betrayal”
personally, Czech Republic targeted USA in his POI, inviting
enthusiastic table-taps from the delegates.

The alliance led by China seemed to be (a little) intimidating as

delegates responded by “ye ek clause hai?”. In the end, the DR of QUOTE CAUGHT!

The most awaited day of the event began with the delegates being
extremely excited for the closing ceremony whilst also being
involved in the committee’s final proceedings, which included a few
GSL speeches followed by an unmoderated caucus for the press
release. The haywire resulted in the delegates stepping on each
other’s feet and constantly rushing to have their solutions added in
order to contribute to the press release.
A press conference was later held by the reporters questioning the
delegates about the solutions to the press release provided by them.
This further led to a magnified argument amongst the delegates. At Illustration by Arsh Singhal (XII-F)

delegates' dedication and resolve. It began with what seemed like
a never-ending moderated caucus and the continuous thumping of
the mic by the vexed EB.
Delegates delved into the intricacies of the role of social media,
exploring creative solutions to tackle the challenges it presents.
The committee was interrupted several times with point of
personal privileges (mostly by “hum chits kab submit karsakte

A pleasant appearance of the IP members took place towards the
end of the first half of the day where they felicitated the IP titles to
the committee members. Anticipation mounted for the final day,

COMMITTEE CALLING
Agenda: Conflict in the
Northern Peace Summit Arctic
By Devyanshi Goswami (XI-E), Vivaan David (XI-I)
Today on the final day the northern peace summit the crisis was
at its peak and it was evident that the committee resolved it as
soon as possible. With various plans of action, motions and
solutions being discussed, the committee was confident about
the fact that it would be able to solve the crisis once and for all.
The committee had by the end also started making unanimous
decisions and ultimately landed on a unified opinion and voted
on their plan of action unanimously, thus finally solving the crisis.

After umpteen unsuccessful attempts to pass a motion, the executive board
came to find the root cause. Vexed by the false claims of Out of Orders, the

India against UCC, rights were held after Amit Shah asserted that UCC would
be pertained retrospectively, followed by Modi and party taking to the podium

The delegate wears Prada

By Ranya Sharma (XI-G)

Ah, the glamorous world of MUN, where aspiring

delegates come together to debate global issues, but
also navigating their own wardrobe crises with a hint of
Andy Sachs' uncertainty. If you thought Meryl Streep’s
character in “The Devil Wears Prada” was a stickler,
wait until you see the outfits of our delegates!

Delegates are found standing in front of the wardrobe

one night before the conference with a pile of clothes
half of which are not a part of the dress code, oh what a
fiasco! All delegates delved into their work and
research have finally decided to put an effort into their
formal look trying to find something to make pre-
transformed Andy Sachs proud. Fast forward to 2 in the
morning, they are losing the war, they look at the
wardrobe and say to themselves “I had hope, anyway
you ended up disappointing me more than any of the
other silly girls”.

Every formal outfit needs particularly good footwear,

and heels are often considered. However, every MUN
delegate knows the struggle of navigating the vast
committee venues in stilettos. Can diplomacy and
practical footwear coexist? Only time, and possibly a
few blisters, will tell. And let's not forget those blazers
and vests that seemed like a great idea at first, but later
in the day are found casually draped over their
shoulders.

Outfit accessories serve as a silent witness to the

backstage drama. From coffee-stained ties to buttered
shirts, accessories tell a tale of their own. As Andy
learned, fashion may be fleeting, but the stories it
carries are timeless. As we laugh at the comical
struggles faced by MUN delegates and their dress code
dilemmas, let's remember that underneath the fashion,
lies a group of young diplomats ready to change the
world. So whether you opt for Miranda Priestly's
runway-ready outfits or Andy Sachs' "I-just-threw-this-
together" charm, remember that it's not just about the
clothes; it's about the ideas and the diplomacy too.
