Vacancy – Business Development Manager (On Contract Basis)

Call for Applications

The University Business Linkage Cell (UBL Cell) of the University of Kelaniya, implemented under the
AHEAD grant, calls for applications from prospective candidates for recruiting a Business Development
Manager. The prospective candidates are requested to forward self-prepared Curriculum Vitae to the
Director, University Business Linkage Cell (UBLC), University of Kelaniya, or send it to
ublcell@kln.ac.lk on or before 14th August 2023.

Candidates who wish to apply for Business Development Manager - UBLC position should possess the
following qualifications:
• Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
• Age should be below 35 years on the date of the application
• A Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized by the UGC, preferably in
management, marketing, finance, ICT or Science.
• Strong communication, negotiating skills, and good interpersonal relations
• High level of proficiency in written and spoken English
• Strong IT fluency, preferably in website development and maintenance
• Creative talents and the ability to solve challenging problems
• In-depth knowledge of the industry and its current events
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate implementation of several commercialization
endeavors with complex and diverse activities
• Previous experiences in similar assignments are preferable
Contract Duration:
Initially, the Business Development Manager will be appointed for a period of five months and the
contract period will be extended upon the performance.

Allowance:

A fixed allowance will be Rs. 55,000/= (with EPF/ETF: Rs. 63,250/=)

Benefits:
The selected candidate will contribute 8% of his/her monthly salary to the Employee Provident Fund
(EPF) while the AHEAD grant will make a contribution of 15% of his/her salary of which 12% will be
credited to the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) and 3% to the Employee Trust Fund (ETF) and other
fringe benefits.
