Furthermore, it would be difficult to mention everyone who supported me during my whole

Practical Training but I cannot forget to give thanks to my caring and loving Mr & Mrs Peter
Mkombozi, my sisters and brothers for allowing me to do my practical training and also for their
moral, material support, financial support and encouragement may almighty God grant them a
long life with happy moments. And also without forgetting my relatives and friends for their
support and encouragement in one way or another may almighty God continue bless them.
 ABSTRACT

According to the academic curriculum requires every second year scholar to attend field practical
training in the duration of eight weeks and prepare a report of what has been done and the lesson
learnt. This training is an opportunity of being exposed to the real practces linking of what has
been learnt by student in the class.

In this report will explain about the general impression information about what is Bapa
consultants company, services provided by BCC, their organizational structure of BCC and how
employees interact and work together as a team, their customers, the vision and mission as well
as the objectives of BCC and its working environment.

And also this report will explain deeply the activities, tasks and duties I have done on each day of
field practical training at BCC, how I have corporate with other team members at BCC,
challenges I have faced and success gained during my field training practical for all eight weeks.
And also , new experience as well as showing the gap of what we learnt in classes already, thus
theory and what is real on the outside world thus practical studies.

And lastly this report will explain the conclusion by describing the importance of field and
recommendation has been demonstrated to both Institute of Accountancy Arusha and Bapa
Consultants Company. Other last pages will consist of references, logbook and all necessary
attachments found useful during the whole training practical period.

CHAPTER ONE

1.1 Introduction

The field practical was conducted at Bapa Consultants Company in Dodoma district started from
17th July 2023 to 8th September 2023 dealing with all consultancy issues including Accounting.

IAA ensures that its prospect graduates attend undergo field practical training to ensure that its
graduates possess the required qualities so that they can compete in the turbulent labour market.

This field attachment means any approved field based practical work carried out by the students
for the purpose of preparing trainees for the task they are expected to perform in completion of
their training.

It is the time when students are expected to acquire practical training and knowledge and to have
an understanding of the dynamics of the lab our market.

1.2. Historical background of BCC

BCC is a private registered Tanzanian Consulting Company which started its operations in
January 2013 under the Business Names Ordinance (Cap. 213) with registration number
268544 issued by Tanzania Business Registration and License Agency (BRELA).

The founder of the company is Baptist Mnyalape and and also the CEO of the company and
five others who are specialists profile of the company.

The firm’s primary focus is to engage in providing audits, accounting, taxation services,
management and business consultancy, procurement consultancy and other services to
individuals, partnerships, cooperative societies, companies, profit or non-profit associations and
other organizations.

BCC main office is based in Dodoma at Forties Building 1ST Floor Nyerere Street P.O.Box
2791 Dodoma, Tanzania.
1.3 Type of the Organization

BCC is the private organization that focus on auditing services, accounting services, tax services,
training platform services, financial services, company and business name registration, general
business consultancy, loan negotiation and settlement services, real estate management, human
resource consultancy and other services to individuals, partnerships, cooperative societies,
companies, profit or non-profit associations and other organizations.

BCC professional excellence is recognized by clients and is proud itself of being a professional
stream not only just for accounting experts, but more professionals of mixed best practices and
experiences in business career accrued while working in public and private sector over years.
The team members are extremely active in industry, professional associations and continuous
educational programs, to ensure that they are contributing to the growth of the industry in which
they operate. The exciting results attained by clients from utilizing the service we provide, are
the outcome of using experience of the entire team to help ensure the successful growth of start-
up, emerging business and other clientele expanding considerably.

1.4 Major services provided by BCC

Currently, BCC’s core area of operations is in the following business service areas.

a) Audit Services
i. General Audit: BCC offer engagements to provide statutory audits to their client's
financial statements and to evaluate the fairness of presentation of the statements in
conformity to the International Standards on Audit.
ii. Special audits and/agreed upon procedures: BCC provide agreed upon procedures
with clients to conduct specific audits on some selected areas of the business and
issue reports and advices on findings. These may include below mentioned services,
 Value-for money audit.
 Procurement audit
 Fraud Investigation
 b) Accounting Services
i. Financial Records: The firm offer accounting services that focus more on how you
keep your financial records and books of accounts. They are ready to offer the
service which cover full range of accounting services from setting up an accounting
system and performing a compilation of their customers financial records. Accounting
services include:
ii. Bookkeeping: Provide services of maintaining ledger accounts and record transactions
from your primary documents, cashbook, and other supporting documents and preparation
of monthly trial balance.
iii. Financial Statement Preparation: They will prepare monthly financial statements that
include financial position, income statements, and cash flow.
iv. Special assignments
 Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation
 Preparation of management financial reports
 Preparation and Processing of Payroll.
c) Tax Services
Normally the firm offers free services to their clients concerning ordinary tax consultations, but
on the other hand, the firm offer tax consultancy services, tax planning assessment of taxable
income and tax reserves. Also offer management information related to aspects of forecasting
projection of operating results, different tax saving opportunities available to clients, preparing
and supervising the annual income tax declaration besides and other related services.
The tax consultancy services include:
 Registration for Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN);
 Registration for Value-Added Tax (VAT);
 Processing Business and Sector Specific Licenses and Permits;
 Other Regulatory Registration as may be required by law;
 Preparation & Submission of Provisional Returns of Income to Tanzania Revenue
Authority;
 VAT Refund Audits;
 Advice on Payroll Taxes and
  Levies and Related Matters.
d) General Business Management Consulting Services
BCC provide a wide range of business management consulting services which comprises
administration, procurement, investment appraisal and business plans. There consultancies
include:
 Design and implementation of administrative, financial and accounting structures.
 Preparation of Business plan and feasibility studies.
 Financial analysis and projections
 Business development consultations and studies.
 Share & business evaluations, cash flow charts, projections and
 Budgetary services.
 Procurement consultations and studies.

e) Human Resources Consultancy

BCC has training packages in the following lines;

f)Real Estate Management

The Real Estate and property business is booming in Tanzania. There is a great need and demand
for professional handling of the real estate businesses. BAPA CONSULTANTS COMPANY has
the expertise in marketing the supply and demand equation, facilitating the buying and selling
processes of piece of land, houses, buildings, structures, and residential properties and for those
willing to outsource management of their estates BAPA manages on their behalf.

BCC is the organization has been made up of five team members including the CEO of the
company, Manager of the company, Accounts consultancy, Tax consultancy and also human
resource consultancy. All team members works together with their clients by creating a good
relationship. This is undertaken purposely to allow BCC team members to answer the client’s
questions so that they become completely acquainted and benefit from with the services provided
by them.

business communities in Tanzania and beyond, through competitive prices, dedicated and
professional staff with a smile.

Since the inception the firm has accomplished a t o t a l o f 3 2 c l i e n t s f o r i s s u e s

relating to Audit and Accounting, More than 300 clients for business
consultancy, 3 clients for training needs and one client as appointed agent
for real estate management.

Some of the clients served include;

 CCT- THE CHAPLAINCY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF DAR ES SALAAM, BCC
have provided auditing of the financial statements from for year ending 31 December
2016.
 MARIA DE MATTIAS PRE AND PRIMARY SCHOOL located in Dodoma, BCC
have provided auditing of the financial statements for year ending 31 December 2016.
 MARIA DE MATTIAS SECONDARY SCHOOL located in Dodoma, BCC have
provided auditing of the financial statements for year ending 31 December 2016.
 AMANI SECONDARY SCHOOL LOCATED IN MANYONI, BCC have provided
auditing of the financial statements for year ending 31 December 2016.
 BIBLE SOCIETY OF TANZANIA a client located in Dodoma. BCC are the appointed
agent manager of the 7 floor Building called BIBLE TOWER located at 8 th Street
Dodoma Municipality in Dodoma.
 GOLD CREST HOTEL- A four star Hotel located Mwanza. BCC have been providing
Accounting and Financial services, audit services, tax and general business consultancy
since 2013
  WESTERN IOWA SYNOD OF THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH
OF AMERICA /SOUTHERN DIOCESE ELCT PROJECT: BCC are hired by The
Evangelical Lutheran Church of America – Western Iowa Synod (WIS) since 2013 to be
external auditors for the Projects ( Hatua Kwa Hatua HKH and Water Drilling, schools
projects) they support here in Tanzania at The Southern Diocese of Evangelical
Lutheran Church of Tanzania ( ELCT) Sothern Diocese .

 M/S TANZANIA AT HOOM COMPANY LTD An Egyptian Company dealing with

whole and retailer Furniture business located in Dar Es Salaam. BAPA has been audited
company financial statements since 2014 until today. BCC are the appointed company
representative for all matters relating to TAX and Investment incentives at TIC
 NEW KIMAMBA SISAL FIBRES LTD. A company involved in sisal farming and
process located in Kilosa, Morogoro Tanzania. BCC have been providing accounting,
financial and general business consultancy since 2015. We also performed 2016 audit
and we also represent them to TRA for all matters relating to Tax compliances.
 ST. PETER CLAVER HIGH SCHOOL. A Jesuit Father Secondary School located in
Dodoma Tanzania. BCC have provided the audit process involved appraisal and
analysis of the school conditions, effectiveness and risks of the finances, personnel and
institutional climate of the School.
