Malaysia is a diverse country with a rich cultural heritage and a rapidly growing economy.

However, the country faces several problems that need to be resolved for the well-being of its people.
Among various types of issues, poverty may be the most significant challenge that people in Malaysia
are facing. Approximately 8.4 percent of the population in Malaysia lives below the national poverty
line. Poverty is a widespread issue that can affect anyone, regardless of their race, religion, or social
status.

Poverty has a devastating impact on many aspects of a person's life, including their health,
education, and job opportunities. Poor health is one of the main consequences of poverty. People living
in poverty are more likely to suffer from malnutrition, chronic conditions, and diseases. They might not
have access to basic healthcare facilities, and even if they do, they might not be able to afford them.

One of the major outcomes of being poor is poor health. Individuals who are living in poverty are
at a greater risk of malnutrition, disease, and chronic illnesses. They might not have access to basic
healthcare services and even if they manage to obtain them, the cost of treatment may be beyond their
budget. Deprivation can also lead to a lack of cleanliness and hygiene, which might exacerbate health
issues.

Another area where poverty can have a significant impact in education. Poor children might not
have access to good schools or be able to afford essential items like books and uniforms. This could
make it difficult for them to perform well in school and secure a good job in the future, making it even
more challenging for them to escape poverty.

Poverty can be highly challenging to live with, especially due to the shortage of job
opportunities. Despite putting in endless effort in filling out applications, attending interviews, and doing
everything possible to secure a job, it can all seem pointless. Such a situation can cause feelings of
despair and hopelessness, making poverty even harder to cope with.

Fortunately, as young people, we can do a lot to tackle poverty in Malaysia. Education is one of
the best ways to achieve this. By learning about the causes and effects of poverty and spreading
awareness, we can encourage people to be more compassionate towards the less fortunate and support
programs that provide adequate education to underprivileged children.

To combat poverty, one can give their time and resources to organizations that strive to alleviate
poverty. Many organizations in Malaysia are dedicated to providing basic necessities such as food,
shelter, medical care, and education to those in need. By volunteering our time and resources, we can
support these organizations and positively impact the lives of those who are in need.

Additionally, creating more job opportunities for individuals living in poverty can also help ease
the issue. This can be achieved by supporting small businesses and promoting entrepreneurship.
Furthermore, one can suggest to the government to make a law for successful businesses to hire
individuals from low-income families, in return for rewards such as tax breaks and so on can also be
effective in easing the problem of poverty.

In conclusion, poverty is a major issue that people in Malaysia have to deal with. It has negative
effects on their well-being, learning opportunities, and employment prospects, and can create a vicious
cycle of poverty that is hard to escape. By working together, we can make a difference in the lives of
those who are experiencing hardship and contribute to a better future for everyone in Malaysia.
