Recently, we received the reports from some vessels regarding the breakage of the stud bolt for
cylinder cover. The breakage had happened at the setting position to the cylinder frame. And this
cause was corrosion by the water collected on the cylinder frame.
Of course, it is important to keep clean on the cylinder frame so as not to collect the water. (Fig-1)
And, at present, the stud bolt has been improved and applies the O-ring. So, we recommend choice
of the new type stud bolt. And, it is compatible with the conventional type.
However, it is better to cover around the stud bolt by the liquid gasket, even if the conventional type.

If the stud bolt is broken, please extract the remaining bolts in the cylinder frame according to the
method on the following pages.

Please extract the broken stud bolt according to the following procedure.

STEP1 Extract by using the screw extractor
(It is considerd the same effect by using the bar something like a wedge in place of screw extractor.)
