LEARNING AT
HBMSU
HBMSU uses a smart learning model for its degree
programs, where every course in the program
is composed of a live online session and an
independent learning session, held on a weekly
basis.

The live online sessions enable you to

interact online with the instructor, view
course content and interact with classmates
in a virtual classroom.

In the independent learning sessions, you

will be provided with a variety of learning
materials that can be accessed anywhere at
any time.

You do not have to come physically to HBMSU

Campus*, thus saving the time, effort and money
of transportation, and you will be able to access
your virtual classes from any place as long as you
are connected to the internet. The HBMSU smart
learning model allows you to learn at your own pace,
and encourage you to set appropriate learning goals
and take charge of your own learning.

The academic excellence of HBMSU is the result of its
well-established network of high-caliber international
faculty and associates from across the globe, who
are dedicated to being more than transmitters of
knowledge – they are facilitators of learning with the
special emphasis on hands-on learning experience.
Today, the University is aligned with over 300 associates
from 45 different countries, who are engaged with
HBMSU in various capacities including subject matter
experts, teaching associates, distinguished visiting
professors, full-time and associate faculty members.

Since its inception, the University has taken a lead
in developing a knowledge-based economy with
pioneering research initiatives in response to the
research needs of the Arab world. The University
publishes yearly eight refereed journals, edited by the
HBMSU faculty with eminent international scholars
serving as editors-in-chief.
Other research initiatives include the Middle East
Center for Case Research and Development, Research
Chairs (Juran Chair in TQM), regional research awards,
with the aim of promoting scholarship and research
among learners and the wider society.

Licensure & Accreditation
All academic programs at HBMSU programs are accredited by the Ministry of Education in the UAE, and is
recognized across most countries in the Arab World.
International accreditations
The Master of Science in Public Health program is dually accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education’s
Commission for Academic Accreditation and by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation
(APHEA), the European accreditation agency for public health programs and schools. It is the first specific
accreditation system for education in public health at the European level. The APHEA was founded by 5
European associations (ASPHER, EUPHA, EPHA, EHMA and EuroHealthNet) bringing together all the
stakeholders in public health in Europe.
The Master of Islamic Banking and Finance is dually accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education’s Commission
for Academic Accreditation and by the and Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA), an independent quality
assurance and accreditation body, supported by Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia) and the
Securities Commission Malaysia.

of hospital management, which provides a direct link between healthcare facilities and those supplying the
services they need. The Master of Science in Hospital Management is designed to give qualified learners,
healthcare administrators, leaders and decision-makers within the health system, senior healthcare
executives, and healthcare providers the knowledge and skills to improve hospital services, and address the
challenges relevant to e-health through research, field practice and community service.
