EcoThreads

Executive Summary:
EcoThreads is a sustainable fashion brand that specializes in offering Eco-friendly, high-quality
clothing products. The company places a strong emphasis on reducing its environmental impact
through the use of sustainable materials and minimizing waste in its production process.

EcoThreads sells goods that are created from a range of sustainable materials, such as organic
cotton, recycled polyester, and fabrics derived from bamboo or hemp. In keeping with its
dedication to sustainability, the company has developed a production technique that minimizes
waste and lowers its carbon footprint.

The company's core ideals are openness and moral corporate conduct. In order to ensure that
its manufacturers and suppliers uphold the company's strict requirements for ethical labor
practices and environmental sustainability, EcoThreads works closely with them.

Business Description:
EcoThreads is a sustainable fashion brand company committed to providing high quality,
fashionable clothing while minimizing the negative impact`on the environment. We understand
the importance of sustainability, and our clothing is designed and manufactured with this in
mind. Our brand sources materials that are environmentally friendly, there will be 7 sustainable
fabrics used to produce our clothing. These fabrics will be:

• Organic Hemp is a versatile plant that can be used to manufacture fabrics.

Additionally, hemp is a very low maintenance plant. It needs little water, no
pesticides and is naturally environmentally friendly. It even returns nutrients to
the soil! If hemp is grown organically, without the help of chemicals to speed up
the process, then it’s a truly sustainable fabric.
• Organic Cotton is a natural fiber, and one of the most common fabrics out there,
but conventionally it can cause a lot of problems. It is extremely water-intensive
and chemical-intensive, which can have negative effects on the environment.
Organic cotton is grown in a way that doesn’t use pesticides or chemicals and is
therefore significantly more environmentally friendly than regular cotton.
According to recent studies, it is found that, compared to traditional cotton,
organic cotton has 40% less "global warming potential" and suggests a 91%
reduction in natural water consumption.

• Recycled fabrics are the best kind of cotton, and the same is true with many
fabrics. The argument is the same one that we use for advocating buying
second-hand clothes –using recycled fabrics means you don’t use up any new
materials or resources and you prevent fabric waste.

• Lyocell is a lightweight fabric made from wood pulp, and it has some great
properties, including being highly absorbent, anti-bacterial, odor-free and
moisture-resistant. Since wood pulp is plant material, lyocell is biodegradable,
helping to make it a sustainable fabric. The wood pulp does need to be
chemically digested in order to create cellulose fibers, but the water and
chemicals used during production are usually able to be recycled. This greatly
decreases the amount of new chemicals and water being taken for production
purposes.

• Econyl recycled fabric, it is a fiber made from synthetic waste including industrial
plastic and ocean fishing nets. The result is extremely similar to nylon, making
Econyl a kind of recycled nylon. Due to the recycling process, significantly less
waste is produced and fewer resources are used compared to nylon production.

• Piñatex is a Vegan leather that has become extremely popular in recent years,
but many of the leather substitutes are made from plastic, which isn’t sustainable
at all. Piñatex is a material made from pineapple leaf fiber, and is, therefore, a
natural food by-product. This is especially great because pineapple leaves are
traditionally discarded, but now a new purpose has been found for them.

• Qmonos synthetic spider silk developed using spider genes and microbes. Since
it’s synthetic, no spiders are used in the process, making the fabric vegan-friendly
and not harmful to any creatures. The fiber is, amazingly, five times stronger than
steel, making it extremely durable. Despite this, it’s a lightweight and flexible
fabric. Although Qmonos is a great sustainable fabric choice, being completely
biodegradable, it is worth mentioning that it’s very expensive and hard to find.

Operation Location:

The business will be open six days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and
holidays on Tuesdays. Demand for clothes is seasonal and we may need to adjust our schedule
as demand fluctuates, also we need to keep our stores closed during public holidays like Eid ul
fitr and Eid ul Adha.

We believe that we have found an ideal location for the business. We intend to operate
EcoThreads from a 2500 square Navana Brooksdale building in Mohammedpur, Dhaka. This is a
high traffic area and we will have easy access to major highways. We also intend to keep a
separate flat for manufacturing our products. The building itself will need some renovations in
order to make it suitable for our needs. We intend to partition the building into flowing areas:

1. Showroom (1000 square feet)

2. Office area (300 square feet)
3. Service area (300 square feet)
4. Other space for restroom and storage (900 square feet)

We feel that this building offers more than adequate space and will meet our needs for the
foreseeable future. All products will be distributed from this location to retailers, wholesalers,
and consumers.

Mission Statement:
At EcoThreads, our objective is to offer attractive, eco-friendly clothing that is of the highest
caliber and up to date. Fashion should not be sacrificed for the environment in our opinion, and
we are dedicated to changing the world for the better through our business operations.

We make an effort to manufacture goods that are created sustainably and with consideration
for the environment. By using recycled materials and cutting back on packaging, we hope to
reduce waste and our carbon footprint.

Inspiring others to join us in our endeavor to build a more sustainable future for our world is our
main objective. We believe that by offering fashionable and environmentally friendly clothing
options, we can inspire customers to dress more thoughtfully and responsibly.

At EcoThreads, we are committed to changing the world for the better, one stylish and
environmentally sustainable product at a time.

Market/Industry Analysis:

Sustainable fashion is becoming an increasingly important trend in the fashion industry, as

consumers become more conscious about the environmental and social impact of their
purchasing decisions. The global sustainable fashion market is expected to grow significantly
over the next few years, driven by factors such as rising awareness of sustainability issues,
increasing demand for ethical and eco-friendly products, and the emergence of new business
models that prioritize sustainability.

One key driver of the sustainable fashion market is the growing consumer awareness of the
negative impact of traditional fashion practices on the environment and society. Consumers are
increasingly concerned about issues such as pollution, waste, and worker exploitation, and are
looking for fashion brands that address these concerns through sustainable and ethical
production methods. As a result, many consumers are willing to pay a premium for sustainable
fashion products, creating opportunities for businesses that prioritize sustainability.

Another important trend in the sustainable fashion market is the emergence of new business
models that prioritize sustainability over traditional profit-driven models. Many sustainable
fashion brands are adopting circular economy principles, which focus on minimizing waste and
maximizing the use of resources by designing products for reuse and recycling. Other brands
are adopting direct-to-consumer models, which eliminate the need for middlemen and allow for
greater control over production and distribution processes.

In terms of market segments, sustainable fashion is becoming increasingly popular across a

wide range of demographics and geographies. Younger consumers, in particular, are driving
demand for sustainable fashion, with many millennials and Gen Z consumers prioritizing
sustainability in their purchasing decisions. In addition, sustainable fashion is gaining traction in
emerging markets such as China and India, where rising incomes and growing consumer
awareness are driving demand for eco-friendly products.

Lastly, the sustainable fashion market is poised for significant growth in the coming years,
driven by a range of factors including changing consumer preferences, new business models,
and growing awareness of sustainability issues. As the market continues to evolve, businesses,
like ours, that prioritize sustainability and innovation are likely to be well-positioned for success.

Competitor Analysis:

operations and product offerings. Companies like Sailor, Yellow, Aarong, and Aranya
Bangladesh are pioneers in the sustainable fashion movement and have built a strong
brand reputation based on their commitment to sustainability. They offer a wide range
of sustainable clothing and accessories, from organic cotton T-shirts to recycled
polyester jackets, and have a loyal customer base.
