I, Neel Shah, am a Professor from Department of Civil Engineering in Gandhinagar Institute of

Technology and I am extremely glad to write this recommendation letter in support of Mr.
Jigneshkumar Dalpatbhai Vaniya, who is applying for his study in your esteemed university/institute.
I have known him in my capacity as his colleague for past 8.5 years and I am associated with him
from the very moment he joined the institute in 2014 as assistant professor. I have been HOD of Civil
Engineering Department since 2021 and he has worked under my supervision. I have taught
Professional Practice and Valuation and Engineering Economics Estimation and Costing as his
subject partner.

He is a very hard working individual who is eager to learn new things and apply it practically. Our
whole department was very impressed with his idea of using different learning materials during
lectures and laboratory sessions.

He also has a strong hold on subjects like Geotechnical Engineering, Foundation Engineering,
Advanced Construction & Equipments, Construction Management, Construction Engineering &
Management, Professional Practice & Valuation and Environmental Engineering. He has always
shown me that personality and practical knowledge outweigh the mugged-up theories and therefore I
consider him as an asset to whichever university/institute he admits into.

He has performed many other duties also which are like counselor of students, guide for the final year
students and coordinator in Technical events, main coordinator of department, timetable committee
member, placement activities and Alumni committee member. His application is praiseworthy, his
maturity and ability to work diligently indicate that he can perform well even in a highly competitive
