Dead Load of Aluminium sheet 0.07 Kpa is considered along with self-weights
of steel tube framing and accessories are considered in the model.

1.3.2Wind Load
Wind speed 46 m/s 3sec gust wind speed as per Saudi SBC is considered for
wind analysis ASCE7-2016,
And Wind Pressure of 1.93 Kpa is calculated as per ASCE-2016 is applied on the
model

2. Steel Handrail
2.1 Loading and Layout
Steel handrail welded framing is of 1.47m cantilever supported on the concrete
The steel tube 100x100x3mm (Angle) is used with the base plate.
And for the remaining portion 80X80X2mm Profile is used here.
The handrail is designed for wind and corresponding live loads.
The Staad analysis is done for to justify the steel section sizes.

Handrail in usual situations will not be subjected to any load as people will just hold it for
support. But sometimes people may lean on it. Hence I considered0.74 Kn/m an udl
and design it as a continuous or simply supported beam.

Comments: Tension displacements are valid with half of the required installation torque moment for uncracked concrete! Shear displacements
are valid without friction between the concrete and the anchor plate! The gap due to the drilled hole and clearance hole tolerances are not
included in this calculation!

The acceptable anchor displacements depend on the fastened construction and must be defined by the designer!

7 Warnings
• The anchor design methods in PROFIS Engineering require rigid anchor plates per current regulations (AS 5216:2021, ETAG 001/Annex C,
EOTA TR029 etc.). This means load re-distribution on the anchors due to elastic deformations of the anchor plate are not considered - the
anchor plate is assumed to be sufficiently stiff, in order not to be deformed when subjected to the design loading. PROFIS Engineering
calculates the minimum required anchor plate thickness with CBFEM to limit the stress of the anchor plate based on the assumptions
explained above. The proof if the rigid anchor plate assumption is valid is not carried out by PROFIS Engineering. Input data and results
must be checked for agreement with the existing conditions and for plausibility!
• Checking the transfer of loads into the base material is required in accordance with ETAG 001, Annex C(2010)Section 7! The software
considers that the grout is installed under the anchor plate without creating air voids and before application of the loads.
• The design is only valid if the clearance hole in the fixture is not larger than the value given in Table 4.1 of ETAG 001, Annex C! For larger
diameters of the clearance hole see Chapter 1.1. of ETAG 001, Annex C!
• The accessory list in this report is for the information of the user only. In any case, the instructions for use provided with the product have to
be followed to ensure a proper installation.
• The characteristic bond resistances depend on the return period (service life in years): 50

8 Anchor plate stress check


Scope: For the loads / load combinations applied on the anchor plate, an anchor plate stress check is performed (based on the results of a FE
calculation). This stress check contains normal stresses resulting from bending moments in two directions. The user is responsible to select
an anchor plate thickness that meets the requirement per guideline for a rigid anchor plate (to ensure that the assumed load distribution is

11 Remarks; Your Cooperation Duties


• Any and all information and data contained in the Software concern solely the use of Hilti products and are based on the principles, formulas
and security regulations in accordance with Hilti's technical directions and operating, mounting and assembly instructions, etc., that must be
