Prerequisites
• This article is for Storage Device Launcher 1.0 downloaded from the system itself.
• The storage system must have an SVP
• SDLauncher and WCLauncher should not be installed on Windows Vista
• Qualified Operating Systems for Customer PC installation
◦ Windows 10 64-bit (English)
◦ Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit (English)
• The scripts must be installed as Administrator
• Qualified Web Browsers for Customer PC installation
◦ Chrome 63.0 or later (Windows 10)
◦ Chrome 48.0 or later (Windows 8.1 Pro)
◦ Internet Explorer 11.0
▪ Only the latest version of Internet Explorer that runs on the Windows operating system is supported
according to Microsoft® Support Policy.
• Port TCP/443 must be used to communicate using TLS 1.2 to the SVP IP address or FQDN
• Minimum required DKC firmware versions (Mandatory GA or the below version - whichever is greater)

Procedure
1. Validate the Prerequisites are met
2. Download the WCLauncher from Storage Navigator

 ◦ How to Download WCLauncher Folder
◦ Download WCLauncher_win.zip
3. Extract the downloaded WCLauncher folder in Windows
4. Copy the Extracted 'WCLauncher' folder to the C:\ directory

5. Temporarily disable any Antivirus as it may mess with the installation scripts
◦ This includes Microsoft Defender SmartScreen
6. Open Windows Command Prompt as Administrator
◦ The scripts will not install if Command Prompt is not opened as Administrator
7. Navigate to the WCLauncher folder
◦ cd /d C:\WClauncher
8. Run Setup_SDLauncher.bat
9. Validate the completed message
10. Run Setupwin.bat
11. Validate the completed message

12. Validate that the shortcut icon appears on the desktop

13. Only if the desktop icon does not show up... Open Folder C:\WCLauncher\SDLauncher\ and then Open
SDLCreateShortCut

14. Enable Antivirus again

◦ This includes Microsoft Defender SmartScreen
15. Double Click the Desktop Icon

16. Type in the IP address of the SVP
17. Use Port 443
18. Click Connect button
◦ The first connection (and connections after firmware upgrade) will take a little longer to download as the
SDLauncher needs to pull the configuration from the SVP

19. Hitachi Device Manager - Storage Navigator will start to load

(If it stays on this page too long, minimize the window and look for Security Alert prompts)

20. If applicable, review the prompt and click the Yes button to proceed.

22. Log into Hitachi Device Manager - Storage Navigator using the desired credentials (Link to default credentials)

23. If you do not see your storage listed when you log in, please "Enable Storage Navigator 2 All Function" and
"Secondary Windows"
