DRAFT 1
Education is broadly diverse today compared to the 1950s because of progressions in teaching
methods and other prominent inventions that implement more apparent teaching techniques.
Therefore, as the capacity to deliver high-class distance education becomes easier, the debate as
to which one between traditional and distance learning is the better form of education is likely to
heat up more in the coming years. And this essay will analyze those two ways of learning
critically.

First and foremost, one of the biggest differences between e-learning and traditional learning is
instructional materials. Students who learn through the internet need to have a basic knowledge
about technology to join online class, do the assignment, use the graphics, which include icons,
symbols, photos, and illustrations to support online learning. Meanwhile online study material
and lectures provide the information in the form of slides, videos with graphical representations
which makes it easier to understand and retain the concepts and vital information. In addition, by
extending the lesson plan beyond traditional textbooks to include online resources, teachers are
able to become more efficient educators. On the other hand, traditional learning brings to
learners some experiences that e-learning does not such as the chance to come to laboratories,
workshops, and clinics on the campus. Teachers also can easily observe their students following
the content of the lesson, giving them the best instructions through books, notes in a direct way.

Second of all, students-teachers interaction is another discrepant aspect. Classroom studying

provides an opportunity for students to engage in live discussions where they can better utilize
their critical thinking skills to voice opinions or involve themselves in an argument. Furthermore,
traditional learning helps students and teachers know each other in a better manner as it allows
teachers to evaluate their students’ strengths and weaknesses directly, act as mentors, and guide
students in their career possibilities. For e-learning, however, the learner is incapable of directly
interacting with the faculty so in case of having any questions, they may find it hard to ask their
online instructor, as communication is often very impersonal.

To conclude, both distance and traditional educational institutions offer their own unique
advantages and equally come with their own set of challenges.

plan beyond traditional textbooks to incorporate online resources, teachers are able to become
more efficient educators. On the alternative hand, traditional learning brings to learners some
experiences that e-learning doesn’t, just like the prospect of coming back to laboratories,
workshops, and clinics on the campus. Teachers also can easily observe their students following
the content of the lesson, giving them the simplest instructions through books, notes in a direct
way.

Second of all, students-teachers interaction is another discrepant aspect. Classroom studying

To conclude, both distance and traditional educational institutions offer their own unique
advantages and equally come with their own set of challenges.
