ORDER
On June 26-28, 2023, the claims of Plaintiff Citlaly Gomez against Defendant Metropolitan
Government of Nashville and Davidson County were heard before a jury of twelve.
In accordance with the attached Jury Verdict Form, judgment is hereby entered in favor of
Plaintiff Citlaly Gomez against Defendant Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson
County. The jury awarded $450,000 in compensatory damages. However, the applicable statute
Tenn. Code Ann. § 4-21-313(a)(6)
limits the award against an employer of more than five
Davidson County qualifies, to $300,000. The Court therefore enters a verdict in Plaintiff Citlaly
In addition, pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. §4-21-31 1(b), Plaintiff Citlaly Gomez is entitled
to recover her attomey's fees for pursuing this action. An application for fees, including relevant
billing records, shall be submitted for the Court's consideration, within thirty (30) days of this
Order. Defendant Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County shall have the
opportunity to file an objection to the amount sought within thirty (30) days of that filing. The
Court will allow the parties an opportunity to be heard on the fee application and will set it for
hearing accordingly.
