3. Sensor Technology
Metal Spring with Strain Gauge applied, used in a Wheatstone Bridge
Measurement Range: 10 mm
Optional Shims: 7.5 mm, 10mm, 2.5 mm Decklid (vertical flange, e.g. lift gate, hood, trunk...)
Customized Shims or Adapters to fit any surface to surface condition can be applied

Approximately 15 hours of continuous use on a single charge
Full Charge from dead batteries can take up to 3 hours.
Measurements can be taken while the Omni-Gap is plugged in and charging
Live readings will start upon entering measurement mode and continuously display the values on the
screen to the user.
Right: Prompt user to save the measurement for the displayed point number in the current
measurement set. If the user chooses to save the measurement by pressing the UP button, the point
number will automatically increment until the set is complete (then a new set will begin) and live
readings will resume, otherwise if the user presses the Down button the point number will remain the
same and live readings will resume.

Up/Down: cycle through all the points, when at first point go to the end of the list, e.g. the next
point to measure. Allow the option for the user to overwrite a value in the measurement set for the
point number displayed (if a value already exists in the set)

The available shim sizes should be stored on the memory chip and programmable from the
desktop software.
The current shim size being used will be the first shim displayed.

The battery value will be displayed in increments of 5%.
Measurements will not be possible when the battery charge is < 10%

returned to the Settings menu.

8. Sensor Calibration
The Calibration software (sold separately) can be used for an unlimited number of Omni-Gap units and
can be used for with 3rd party reference tools with user defined nominals.
To Calibrate the Omni-Gap unit simply connect the handheld to the computer using a USB-A to mini-B
cable and start the Omni-Gap Calibration software, place the Omni-Gap into Comm Mode and follow
the on screen instructions.
10. Troubleshooting
How do I add or delete shims?
Shims can be added or deleted using the Omni-Gap Desktop software.
