In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water at least 15 minutes. Get
medical attention if irritation occurs.

Prolonged or repeated contact can defat the skin and lead to irritation and/or dermatitis.
Effects and Symptoms
Eyes : No significant health hazards identified.

Harmful : may cause lungdamage if swallowed. Aspiration of this material into the lungs
Skin : can cause chemical pneumonia and can be fatal. Aspiration into the lungs can occur while
vomiting after ingestion of this material. Causes gastrointestinal irritation and diarrhea.

Inhalation :

Ingestion :

Section 3 : Composition / information on ingredients

Substances : Isohexadecane
CAS number : 4390-04-9 ; 60908-77-2 ; 93685-80-4

Section 4 : First Aid Measures

Eye Contact : Immediately flood the eye with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, holding the eye
open. Get medical attention if irritation occurs.
Skin Contact : Wash exposed skin with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops.
Inhalation : If inhaled, remove fresh air. Get medical attention if symtoms appear.
Ingestion : If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious
person. Aspiration hazard if swallowed - can enter lungs and cause damage. Get medical
attention.

Section 5 : Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing Media : Use water spray, foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Unusual Fire / Explosion Hazards : Use water spray to keep fire exposed containers cool. Hot containers may explode. Vapors
may form explosive mixtures with air.
Hazardous Decomposition Carbone oxides (CO, CO2)
Products :
Protection of Fire-Fighters : Fire fighters should wear positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus and full
turn out gear.

Section 6 : Accidental Release Measures

Large Spill and Leak : Immediately contact emergency personnel. If emergency personnel are unvailable, contain
spilled material. For large spills dike spilled material or otherwise contain material to
ensure runoff does not reach a waterway. Place spilled material in an appropriate
container for disposal. Avoid contact of spilled material and runoff with soil and surface
waterways. See section 13 for waste disposal information.
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Use suitable protective equipment (Section 8). Follow
all fire fighting procedures (Section 5)
Personnal Protection in Case of a Chemical splash goggles. Full Suit. Boots. Gloves.

Section 7 : Handling and Storage
Handling : Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. To dissipate stactic electricity during transfer,
ground drum and connect to receiving container with bonding strap. Do not empty into
drains. May form explosive mixtures with air.
Storage : Keep container tightly closed. Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area.

Section 8 : Exposure Controls / Personal protection

Occupational Exposure Limits : None assigned.
Engineering measures : Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airbome
concentrations of vapors below their respective threshold limit value. Ensure that
eyewash stations and safety showers are proximal to the work-station location.
Respiratory Protection : None required ; however, use of adequate ventilation is good industrial practice.
Hand Protection : Protective gloves should be worn under normal conditions of use.
Eye Protection : Chemical splash goggles.
Skin and Body Protection : None required ; however, use of protective clothing is good industrial practice.

Section 9 : Physical and Chemical Properties

Appearance : Clear colourless liquid
Odour : Odourless.
Boiling Range/Point : 210 - 250°C
Melting Point : -70°C
Flash Point : Closed cup : 102°C
Fire Hazards in Presence of Various Slightly flammable in presence of open flames, sparks and static discharge.
Substances :
Explosion limits : 0,6 to 4,7%
Vapour Pressure : 0,01 kPa at 20°C
Viscosity kinematic : 5,2 mm2/s (5,2 cst @ 20°C)
Density : 0,78 – 0,79 g/cm3 (20°C)
Autoignition temperature : 400°C

criteria as a reproductive toxin.
Reproductive Effects : No component of this product at levels greater than 0,1% is classified by established regulatory
criteria as teratogenic or embryotoxic.
Teratogenic Effects :
Other Information : Aspiration of this material into lungs can cause chemical pneumonia and can be fatal. Aspiration
into the lungs can occur while vomiting after ingestion of this material.

Section 12 : Ecological Information

Ecotoxicity : Do not allow any potentially contaminated water including rain water, runoff from fire
fighting or spills to enter any waterway, sewer or drain.
Persistence Potential : This product is inherently biodegradable.
Mobility : This product is not likely to move rapidly with surface or groudwater flows because of its
low water solubility of : 0,1 g/l at 20°C.
This product is not likely to volatize rapidly into the air because of its low vapour
pressure.
Bioaccumulative Potential : This product shows a low bioaccumulation potential.

Section 13 : Disposal Considerations

Avoid contact of spilled material and runoff with soil and surface waterways. Dispose of in accordance with all applicable local
and national regulations.
Empty containers may contain harmful, flammable/combustible or explosive residue or vapors. Do not cut, grind, drill, weld,
reuse or dispose of containers unless adequate precautions are taken against these hazards.
