PAST SIMPLE: actions in past.

 Verb in past.

Irregular- regular verbs.

Irregular: they change. Buy (present- comprar) bought (past comprar)

Regular: end in ED- play played. Sleep sleeped. Cook cooked

How to use it:

Subject+ verb in past (positive sentences)

1) I 2) played the piano

I cooked some cakes

I bought a chocolate.

NEGATIVE SENTENCES:

Subject+ did-not (didn´t) + verb in present

I didn´t cook a cake

I didn´t buy a chocolate

She didn´t play a football match.

QUESTIONS

DID + SUBJECT + VERB IN INFINITIVE.

Did he cook meat?

Did she play a football match?

Yes she did.

No she didn´t.

Past continuous.

We use it for: talk about the past. One activity that stats/occur before another or when
another starts. (actividad en el pasado que estaba ocurriendo cuando otra acción empezó)

Example: I WAS CLEANING my house when my mother arrived.

Important: verb to be in past WAS-WERE.

STRUCTURE:

 Positive: Subject+ was-were + verb/ing. I WAS SLEEPING


 Negative: subject+ was-were + not (wasn´t-weren´t) + verb-ing. I WASN´T READING
 Interrogative: was-were + subject + verb ing. WAS HE COOKING?
