Rwanda's General Development
Rwanda's economy has tremendously recovered over the last two decades.

The country registered an average GDP growth of around 8 percent per year, with a double-
digit growth recorded in the last two quarters of 2019. Since 2000s, collected domestic taxes
increased 20 times while the national budget increased 14 times.

Corruption in Rwanda
Rwanda has became one of the countries that has succesfully decreased the rate of
corruption as its currently ranked as the 3rd least corrupt country in Africa, 54th in the
world

FOR INSTANCE
Rwanda’s post-genocide authorities established a National Tender Board to replace a
contract-award system rife with corruption. The Rwanda Public Procurement Authority
replaced this board in order to further decentralize and make the contracting process more
independent. The Rwanda Revenue Authority reformed tax collection and to end privileges
which politicians, prominent businessmen, and senior military officers had previously
enjoyed.

RESULTING IN
The enforcement of strong discipline across the public sector, the politicisation of the
masses through education, and placed an emphasis on sacrificing individual interests for
the public good.
Governance in Rwanda
According to the Ministry of Local government in Rwanda, Rwanda has managed to achieve a
good level of economic growth through good governance

FOR INSTANCE
Investigating efforts in supporting populations that are vulnerable to poverty such as older
people, those living with disabilities, young children, female-headed households, genocide
survivors and the historically marginalised.

Political Stability in
Rwanda
According to the political stability index, the value for Rwanda was with a minimum of -2.04
points in 1998 and a maximum of 0.17 points in 2021. The latest value from 2021 is 0.17
points. .
