numbers to real life to be released as part of the special edition copy. You are going to present in your article pictures of
objects or landscapes in nature that reflect the existence of irrational numbers. Explanation of how irrational numbers
are shown in the picture should be included in your article. Your article, which will be evaluated by the editor in chief,
should be creative, comprehensive, and accurate in concept.

GRADE 8

You are a member of an educational material development team that creates math video tutorials. As a research
developer, you are tasked to create a video presentation that includes the use of the different factoring techniques and
samples of real-life polynomial word problems. Your team leader will evaluate your video tutorial based on the factoring
techniques used, the correctness of the factored polynomials, and the creativity of the presentation.

GRADE 9

You are a product designer for toys tasked by your department head to design a slingshot that can hit a target at a
specific height. Your design should model a quadratic function for the target height. A graph of the model should also be
included in your proposal. Your proposal should include the sketch of the slingshot with its corresponding quadratic
function model, graph, and description. Your work should be supported with correct mathematical computations,
accurate graph, and creative presentation which will be evaluated by your department head.

GRADE 10

COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is constantly increasing over time. As of August 10, 2020, there were over 136,700
number of confirmed cases. As a Health Officer of the Department of Health, you are expected to make a mathematical
model to estimate the number of cases by the end of September 2020 using a computed average of cases per day
starting from August 2020 to the first week of September. You are to place your model and estimation on a two-fold
brochure together with some COVID-19 information and important precautionary measures in order to help in informing
the Filipino people about the said situation and to protect them from the virus. Your product will be evaluated by the
DOH Secretary using the following criteria: Appropriateness of the Mathematical Model, Application of the Concepts of
Sequences, Accuracy of the Computations, Creativity and Originality and Practicality of Information and Precautionary
