III. Installation Site Selection

To prevent logger from damages and secure normal operation, installation location
must meet following requirements:

 the logger should be installed indoors, and avoid places with humidity, dust,
direct sunlight, corrosive steam; the place should also be shockproof and
pressure-resistant;

 Ambient temperature range should be around -10℃~+65℃

 Max. communication distance for RS485/422 should be less than 1000 meters,
please ensure the distance from the installed location to the inverter can meet the
communication requirements;

 Must stay away from other cabling routes or pipes in the house, e.g. gas pipes,
water pipes, wires etc.

 Must be close to a power socket providing 100~240V voltage and 50~60Hz

frequency;

 Metal structure can block electromagnetic waves, so the installed position should
be far away from it to ensure devices’ wireless signal quality.

IV. Logger Installation

1. Din-rail logger and din-rail power supply clamp installation

Step 1：Please loosen the black plastic buckle behind din-rail logger and din-rail power

before installation in order to install on metal rail.

Step 2：Stuck din-rail logger and din-rail power to rail and gently push black buckle upward

to fasten logger to rail.

Step 3：Gently press to insert the side with pin of din-rail logger to the side with female

header of din-rail power, then press the yellow buckles on two sides of din-rail logger to

din-rail power to connect.

Step 4：Connect AB bus of din-rail logger and inverter, A to A, B to B, line order refers to

line order definition mentioned above (if connecting multiple inverters, please cascade

corresponding AB bus via star-delta connection).

Step 5：Peel of part of rubber outside wire (length depending on actual needs); wind the

exposed mental wire to din-rail power interface LN metal screw nut as the picture shows,

then fasten double-screw bolt.

Step 6：Check circuit, power on after ensuring there is no problem.

2. Din-rail logger and din-rail meter installation

Step 1： Please loosen the black plastic buckle behind din-rail logger and din-rail meter

V. Logger Parameter Setting

A. Setup and usage

a. Logger network settings

Note：
This manual is based on Windows7 system, for reference only. If the user adopts
other operating systems, please change the settings accordingly.

The stick logger has been embedded into the inverter, you can start to set after
switching on the device.

1. Prepare a computer or device that can connect to a wireless network, e.g. a tablet, smart phone
etc.

2. Set the computer to obtain IP address automatically

1 Open wireless network connection (click on the right bottom of the

desktop), click property.

2 Double-click Internet protocol（TCP/IP）

3 Choose ‘retrieve IP address automatically’, click ‘confirm’

3. Set WiFi to connect to the stick logger

Open wireless network connections, click ‘check wireless network’

Choose wireless network connected to the logger, no password is needed.

Logger network name consists of AP and product SN number. Then click
‘connect’.

If you can’t find AP_(logger SN number) in the wireless network list, then there might be
something wrong with logger connections or settings, inverter back cover need to be
opened to check logger connections, please refer to the manual.

Before troubleshooting, please confirm with your inverter manufacturer whether you can
open the inverter back cover yourself. If not, please contact the customer service.

4. Set WiFi logger parameters

(a) Open the browser, enter ‘10.10.100.254‘, then click enter, enter user name and password
(‘admin’is set as defaulted value)

Support browser IE 8+，Google browser 15+，Firefox browser 10+

(b) Enter WiFi logger setting interface, you can check all basic info about the logger.

Next, please make a quick setup following setup wizard.

 Click ‘refresh’ to search available wireless network, you can also add wireless network manually

Note：

1． If the signal strength of chosen network is <15%, it means the connection is

unstable. Please adjust the location of router’s antenna or increase relays.

2．SSID of chosen router networks can’t be longer than 30 characters, ‘space’ excluded.

3．When wifi logger is set as STA mode, the range of supported router channel is 1-11.

4．Wifi STA support the router’s 802.11 b/g/n mode

5．Wifi doesn’t support special characters such as “，”、“；”, it is recommended that users

choose characters like a-z, A-Z, 0-9 as router’s SSID and password, instead of special

characters like !@#$%&*()_+-=[]\{}|;:'",./<>?

6．WIFI connection might be restricted in some corporate router settings, therefore it is

recommended in the manual that clients close Qos restriction function.

7．Wifi supports standard encryption methods（WEP/WPAPSK/WPA2PSK）, but it

doesn’t support mixed encryption methods;

8．DHCP function should be enabled on the router, otherwise wifi can’t be connected to

the router;

9．If you still have problems searching signals or connecting to the router, you can try to

restart the router or restore the factory settings, then connect again; If you still have problems,

please contact us;

Note: When this dialog box is displayed, check strictly with the following steps.

1．When wifi logger is set as STA mode, the range of supported router channel is 1-11.

2．Wifi STA support the router’s 802.11 b/g/n mode

3．Wifi doesn’t support special characters such as “，”、“；”, it is recommended that users choose

characters like a-z, A-Z, 0-9 as router’s SSID and password, instead of special characters

doesn’t support, please select Disable and enter manually.

Note
Please encrypt WiFi network in the following ways to improve WiFi security.

Option 1: Select an encryption method to switch AP network and set password, enter the
password next time when you connect the logger, please remember your password.

Option 2: If you choose to change user name and password for the server embedded in data
logger, enter new user name and password next time logging in to the embedded server.

Click ‘Complete’ to restart the system immediately, the restart may take 3 minutes, please
wait.

8 Close the page once the setup is complete.

Note: There might be a change in IP address of the device, please refer to steps to
retrieve IP address as above

Once the configuration is complete, please take 3 minutes following the steps
as below, to check whether the configuration is successful：

1. Reconnect logger AP

2. Open the browser, enter 10.10.100.254, login again logger

configuration interface;

3. Please check remote server A, if ‘able to connect’ is displayed,

configuration is successful;

4. If ‘Unable to connect’, please check whether IP address is obtained

and whether signal is stronger than 15% on ‘Device Description’—‘Wireless
STA Mode’

5. If IP address is obtained, check whether outside net can be

accessed via the router

6. If IP address can’t be obtained, please restart the logger and router,

then configure again.

7. If the signal strength is less than 15%, please try to adjust antenna
direction, and shorten the distance between logger and router.

Please log in our management platform to monitor and manage your PV

system (If you haven’t registered yet, register first). If you need to enter
configuration interface, please make sure that your computer, phone and
devices are in the same network, enter device IP address to visit.

9 Firmware Upgrade

a. Power on the logger, open wireless network, search logger SN number and then connect

b. Open the browser, enter 10.10.100.254 to log in Wifi logger homepage (user name and

password are both admin), shown as below:

c. Check whether the software version is as required, if yes, no upgrade is needed before next

step; if not, click software upgrade, then click ’select files to upgrade’ to select the program to be

upgraded, click ‘Upgrade’, then ‘Confirm’.

Note:

The logger will restart automatically after upgrade. After the restart, you have to login

configuration interface again. We recommend you to restart after all configurations. Firmware

version displayed on system is the upgraded file version.

10 Inverter brand review

Enter ‘System’ – ‘Connecting inverter’

If the connected inverter type is the current one, the upgrade is successful, if not, change steps as below

connecting type is displayed, the upgrade is successful.

2. Platform Login
After successful registration, users can enter correct email address and password in
the login interface to enter the management portal.

Warning

If users enter PV monitoring system for the first time within 10 minutes
after successful registration, please check real-time interface as shown
in the picture. If the interface presents any data, it means the logger has
already been connected (as shown below in the picture)

VII. Commissioning

After the logger has been connected to device please check status of LINK light, 485
light, STATUS light and whether there is any data on platform. (There is only one
indicator light for LINK, 485 and STATUS with the logger’s running conditions
indicated by red or green status, please refer to more light status details as below).

Warning: logger test considerations

1. Please plug and extract logger after power-off.

2. Normal logger work status: network light, LINK light and RS485
are always on after logger is power-on.
3. Domestic SIM Card: trial (1 month) after activation, silent stage (6
months) after trial; During silent stage logger powered, SIM card
activated and starts charging, or SIM automatically activated and starts
charging after silent stage.
4. Normal logger work status: after logger powered, network light
flashing, LINK light and RS485 light on.

VIII. Storage Mode Description

1. Logger storage temperature：-40℃~+90℃

2. Logger storage humidity：<40%
