CẤU TRÚC SO SÁNH HƠN (Adj + er)

+) Đối với adj ngắn: S + tobe/V + adj + er + than …. Tall, short, early, easy,,,
(những từ có 1 hoặc 2 âm tiết: adj ngắn)
Eg: He is taller than me
I wake up earlier than her. (Tôi dậy sớm hơn cô ấy)
Today is less cold than yesterday. (Hôm nay ít lạnh hơn hôm qua)
+) Đối với adj dài: S + tobe/V + more + adj + than…. Expensive, beautiful (Những từ
có 3 âm tiết trở lên: adj dài)
Eg: She is more beautiful than me.
He is more intelligent than anyone else in this class. (Anh ấy thông minh hơn bất cứ
ai trong lớp học này.)

CẤU TRÚC SO SÁNH NHẤT (Adj + est)

+) Đối với adj ngắn: S + tobe + the + adj + est+…
Eg: He is the tallest person in this class
Mai is the oldest in this world
+) Đối với adj dài: S + tobe + the + most + adj +….
Eg: This sofa is the most comfortable sofa in this world.

CẤU TRÚC SO SÁNH BẰNG….BẰNG (as Adj as)

(+) S + tobe/V + as + Adj/Adv + as +….
Eg: He is as tall as his brother
She sings as good as her mom
English is as difficult as Chinese
(-) S + to be/V + not + as + Adj/Adv + as +….
Eg: The party is not as fun as she said (Bữa tiệc ko vui như cô ấy nói)
Your dog is not as pretty as mine. (Con chó của bạn ko đẹp bằng của tôi)
Today is not as cold as yesterday. (Hôm nay ko lạnh bằng hôm qua)

Eg: Is he as short as his dad?

*Lưu ý về 1 số tính từ đặc biệt

Good – (well) - better – the best: tốt – tốt hơn – tốt nhất
Bad – (badly) - worse – the worst: tệ - tệ hơn – tệ nhất
Far – farther/further – the farthest/the furthest: xa – xa hơn – xa nhất
Little – less – the least: ít – ít hơn – ít nhất
