CONSTITUTION OF GAIA : THE

ENVIRONMENT SOCIETY OF JINDAL SCHOOL

OF ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABILITY

Article 1 Definition
Environmental awareness and action at a personal and
community level is essential for the sustainability of the three
Ps; People, Planet, and Profit. While the issue of sustainability
is an overarching issue that is gaining increasing prominence,
the path to reversing environmental degradation can only be
achieved through small and localised steps & initiatives. This
is what Gaia: The Environment Society of JSES, JGU aims to
achieve. As a society, we aim to introduce sustainable and
environment friendly initiatives on campus and beyond it as
well.

Through environmental initiatives on campus, we aim to make

JGU an even more eco-friendly campus while also increasing
environmental awareness in students to position them as
leaders of similar programmes in their respective
communities. Considering the concept of sustainability is a
youth-oriented movement keeping in mind resource
availability for future generations, we believe that JSES, JGU
-- which comprises passionate and innovative thinkers with a
common goal of environmental preservation -- is an ideal
place for such a society to exist.
