The honourable judges, the master of ceremony and also all participants.

Thanks to Allah the Almighty, who has given mercy and blessing, so we can meet together this morning
in this blessing place. And also, don’t forget to deliver shalawat and salam to our prophet Muhammad
SAW who has moved us from the darkness the light, so we arealways in the right way. Firstly, I would like
to introduce myself. My name is Rayyan binti Abu Bakar, from 5 Ibnu Hayyan.

Ladies and gentleman,

It will be a great honor for me to stand right here in front of you to give a speech about “Social Networks
and Our Young Generation.

Social networking sites have taken the world by a storm leading to nothing less than a revolution. The
most known of all are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Whatsapp. These websites are easy to access
and in most cases are free of charges. Users of social networking share common interests and they feel
like a close family. Since the introductions of internet to general public, a number of social sites
launched. Among of this all, the Facebook and twitter are some of the most prominent of all.

Despite all the important contribution of social networking sites, there is legitimate concern of its
disadvantage. Excessive use of social networking create attention deficit and detach the user from the
real.

Using social networking site has advantages and disadvantage. It is the best interest of the user to know
which site to use, when and how to use them.

The honourable judges and my great friends,

Some of the advantages of using social networking are is like the virtual meeting places where people
can just meet and discuss with different issue of common interest. Some people use these sites to find
and meet old high school friend and reunite their friendships. Using social network makes easier and
faster to get the most up to date and latest newsaround the world instantly. University and colleges are
becoming members of the social networking. Which make easier for student find information easily and
freely.

Companies started using social networking to recruit employees by examining the users profile and
background.

Ladies and gentleman,

Although social networking site has its advantages, there are also disadvantages as well. In order to use
social networking, users must provide personal information first before they allowed accessing the sites.
Young people, who post embarrassing photos or information, will have hard time to find a job. Social
networking makes cyber bully much easier, which in some cases may lead to death. People who spend
more time on social networking sites will create a poor performance. But the most frightening thing is
the social networking addiction. This will hinder the ability of young people to develop real social life,
which is very important in people to develop conversation and speech. The traditional face to face
sociali4ing is becoming out dated.

Dear ladies and gentleman,

Well, young generation is the ones who have responsibility to develop the nation, so that their nation
will have high prestigious among the nations in the world. They are the future generation who can
produce fresh brilliant idea to bring the nation better. The future of the nation belongs to the younger
generation like me.

Now I will ask a question, how is the situation of Malaysian younger generation nowadays, As we all
know, most of young generation like to do useless thing than the good one. It’s like how teenagers spent
their time of talking on the phone for hours with their friends explaining some useless, like ‘‘Hei have
you check your timeline? I’ve just upload such a very funny photograph” or something like that. Then,
we can see how teenagers sit in front of their computer to play video game all day long. This is not what
we need! Our nation need a change and it is clear that young generation is the one who can do this.

Ladies and gentleman,

Rasullullah SAW guides the young generation to keep their health, their power up and keep their
morals. This specially gives a meaningful message for young generation because they definitely need it.
So that, young generation must surely believe that Allahbis the one who can help them anything they do,
including their missing in shaping this nation.
