Institution Building: Prof. Barman with 25 years of PG-

MBA teaching experience assumed Headship in Dept. of
Business Administration, JNSMS, and Assam University
Silchar on 15th May 2023. In a short period of time he ensured
quality of education by QMS-2023, could received the
certificate for department by Grade-A from IAQMS, USA.
During the short period of his leadership, the department
launched Techno BBA NEP integrated program (with 60
intake), Executive MBA Program, Post Graduate Diploma
in Tea-Business and Technology; One Year Advanced
Program in Sales and Marketing.

Professor Barman also prepared a draft plan for

infrastructure innovation, construction of building that fits to
the modern business administration of today and for
tomorrow. Prepared separate hostels for 100 boys and 100
girls students along with 20 executive suits/ guest-house
facilitating industry- institutes interactions at the premises of
Assam University (a Central Govt), Silchar. He also put the
proposal for modernisation of Lab, Knowledge resource
centre of the department, modernisation of students’
attendance through digital devices to ensure committed
learning.

Professor Barman as a humble leader with silences visualises

innovation of the department to move ahead of 50 years
from today, which was pushed backed 25 years by the
erstwhile officials for administering the school.

Academic Excellence: Professor Barman is an innovative

and creative teacher in the field business Administration and
Management. His analogies are appreciated by trainees
(IPS, Parliamentary Directors, and Students of Business
Administration all the over the country, India and abroad.
He teaches everything ethics to organisational spirituality,
leadership and Organisation innovations, Organisational
change and development, human resource management by
integrating Reverse Engineering, and Concurrent
Engineering.

His philosophy of research activity is advancement and

challenges status-quo of research methodologies. Till today
he guided and awarded 12 Scholars, 06 guiding. He
evaluated 76 research theses for Ph.D. (25 from Abroad and
Rest from Indian Universities of Repute). He has 176 research
papers, 38 Book Chapters, and many micro Articles relating
to career and management.

Prof. Barman is an excellent orator and speaker, delivered

more than 400 hours (175 Sessions/Programs) of training.
Professor Barman is a frequently visitor & trainer to Police
Trainings Centres. He delivered sessions among IPS, Directors,
Officers of Police and Officers Civil Administration. He is no
doubt a trainer for the advance issues of management and
investigation.

Prof. Barman is an initiator for establishing the university

level Centre for Industrial Relations at Assam University
under the mandate of National Research Foundation bill of
India. He is a consultant of institutional development under
mandate of NAAC, and delivers speeches and training
sessions to couples of colleges and universities of Assam and
different parts of India.

Contributions to Society: Professor Barman is a socially

responsible professor, who is being associate with the Disaster
Management under Assam State Disaster Management
Authorities (ASDMA), District Disaster Management
Authority (DDMA Cachar) since 2010. He is pioneer thinker
to establish Disaster and Climate Resilience Network for
Sustainable Development an-inter –state network for
research, consultancy, advocacy, and actions at Cachar
(Assam). He was a lead researcher (India) for Academic
Guidelines Project under United Nations Global Compact,
New York. He is a Ambassador of University of People
(UoP), USA for promoting Tuition Free Education in the
Globe; Global Education Ambassador of Wisdom

Creating Impact in Students/Faculty community etc:
Professor Barman judges everything based on quality. His
quality initiatives, lectures, teaching has impacted more 25
years of his career, and developing many ideas for social and
faculty outreach. He reaches society and students through
many academic and non academic programs. He is
contributing academic institutions as the nominee of His
Excellence, Governor of Assam, Nominee of Vice Chancellors,
and Members of various international and Nation Bodies.
Professor Barman also acted as the National General
Secretary (All India) of National Human Rights (Social
Justice Council of India).
