2. a) 0.2286 b) 126.35 c) 0.2586
3. b) r = -0.9880.
Strong negative relationship between the age of the cars and the price of the car.
r2 = 0.9761.
97.61% of variation in the price of the cars is explained by the variation in the age of the
cars. Another 2.39% of variation in the price of the cars is explained by other factors.

5. a) 0.8185 ; 246 workers b) p = 44.2
6. a) 0.1205 b)   30 ;   4.8244
7. a) b = 0.9294, a = 125.958
Regression line: y  125.958  0.9294 x
b = 0.9294 means that for every 100 units increased in the number of shops in a town, their
annual incomes will increased by RM929.40.

Weak positive relationship between the number of shops in a town, x and their annual
incomes, y.
r2 = 0.0550
5.50% of variation in the annual income of a town is explained by the variation in the
number of shops in the town. Another 94.5% of variation in the annual income of a town is
explained by other factors.
