1. Given m = 10 kg. Find the extension in both the springs
in equilibrium.



2. A block of mass 10 kg is suspended through two light spring balances as shown in figure-2.182


A) Both the scales will read 10kg
B) Both the scales will read 5 kg
C) The upper scale will read 10 kg and the lower zero.
D) The reading may be anything but their sum will 10 kg.


3. If the reading of the weighing machine is 10 kg in
equilibrium, find the elongation/compression in
both the springs.

4. Two blocks A and B of masses 2m and m, respectively, are connected by a massless inextensible string.
