Installation
USB power is not sufficient for the operation, however, the voltage outputs (AUX) of
alarm control panels are generally compliant.
• The TIP/RING communication line of the alarm control panel needs to be connected
to the TIP/RING input of the communicator.
• Place the SIM card into the SIM card slot of the device.
• Connect the antenna.
• Power up the device.
Connect the USB cable, run the software and configure the communicator.
PSTN landline simulator with 2 contact inputs and 2 different functions as below:
Functional description
In Standalone mode the unit behaves like a monitoring station receiver which receives
and handles the CONTACT ID communication of alarm control devices. It compares the
report codes with the filled in event codes of the program table and at the occurrence of
the desired event it sends the assigned SMS message and initiates a call alarm. By this
means the users of the alarm control panel can be notified of any signals.
Further function is that by controlling the contact inputs the communicator sends the
assigned SMS messages and calls the pre-set telephone numbers.
In transparent mode fully replaces landline and transmits data to monitoring station if
PSTN landline is unavailable or disconnected. By this means the alarm control panel can
send the report codes in CID.
By controlling the contact inputs the communicator immediately sends the CONTACT ID
messages assigned to the inputs to the given monitoring station number and this way
preceding the signalling time of the alarm control panel’s complete communicator with
precious time.
Setting of this mode can be done with the PCB program on the USB drive.
Main features
• Forwarding SMS
Technical specifications
• Power 9-30V (DC)
• Size 40x75x15mm
Configuration
To start setting first the USB port of the device needs to be connected to PC and then run
the setting program in its memory. (Compatibility: Windows 7, 8.1)
At the start of the program or the connection of the device to the PC the setting program
reads out and shows the actual setting.
State reports
General setting
Operating mode STANDALONE (stand-alone) or TRANSPARENT (monitoring station)
Phone numbers user phone numbers where the unit sends the signal in the form of SMS
and/or call (to maximum 4 numbers) in case of ACK setting, at the call
requesting an acknowledgement code from the called device but calls the
same telephone number maximum 3 times
Progress bar
Moving data between the PC and the device
Reading out data from the device happens automatically as soon as connection is
established. Settings can be saved to PC or read in from PC. Upload needs to be done
after each change!
Operation modes
Setting the operation mode can happen according to the below 2 options:
I. Standalone mode
In this mode the device expects to receive CONTACT ID signal codes in the format
defined in the standard.
In the example to /8556 18 1 401 01 001/ CONTACT ID code ANGIE left home SMS
message is generated and sent to T1 telephone number.
The desired SMS and call to the CONTACT ID codes can be entered in a table according
to the below way:
• The event code (CID code) and identifier (Account ID) of the sent signals from the
contact inputs can be optionally set.
• The partition number in the message is 01 and the value of the zone in the message
is 001 and they cannot be changed.
• Communication format is CONTACT ID.
LED signals
The below LED signals show the communicator’s operating state. If there is fault, red
TROUBLE continuously, while green LED showing the cause of the fault blinks
rhythmically.
