What skills do I
need to play
volleyball?

The following are described: serving,

passing (forearm underhand passing),
setting (overhead passing), attack
options (hitting/spiking), blocking (from
attack and defend positions), and
defensive skills (rolling & sliding).
Who invented
the first
volleyball?

William George Morgan was the

inventor of volleyball, originally called
"Mintonette", a name derived from the
game of badminton which he later
agreed to change to better reflect the
nature of the sport. He was born in
Lockport, New York, U.S.

sport called Mintonette which later developed and
became volleyball.

unforced error, the players are required to rotate and
the serve is switched. The new serving team will
rotate clockwise one spot. The purpose of this is to
rotate all the players through the serving position.

Is volleyball a skill
Volleyball is a sport comprising of specific skills, like
serves, passes, sets, blocks, attacks and digs. Each

sport? skill can be used to attack or defend depending on

game play. Below are a few volleyball techniques with
explanations on how they can be executed.

2 Objectives: To support my overall goal,I have identified
specific and measurable objectives. These objectives
include increasing my serving accuracy from 50% to
80% within the next three months and consistently
hitting the desired target area on the opponent’s court.
3.
Steps to achieve objectives: I have outlined several
steps I can take to achieve each objective. To improve
my serving accuracy, I will start by practicing serving
drills during every practice session. Additionally, I will
seek guidance from my coach to refine my serving
technique and learn strategies for consistent
accuracy. I will also work on developing a consistent
toss, footwork, and follow through during my serves.
4. Timeline: I have established a timeline for completing
each objective. I will practice serving drills three times
a week for 30 minutes each session. Within the first
month, I aim to increase my serving accuracy by 10%.
By the end of the second month, I plan to achieve a
serving accuracy of 70%, and in the third month, I will
strive to reach my ultimate goal of 80% accuracy.
5.
Monitoring Progress and Adjustments: To monitor my
progress, I will keep a record of my serving accuracy in
each practice and match. I will track the percentage of
successful serves and note any areas where
improvement is needed. I will also seek feedback from
my coach and teammates to gain insights into my
performance. If necessary, I will make adjustments to
my plan based on feedback and identify areas that
require more attention or practice.
Section 4
1.
In a recent game, my teammate and I had to work
together to execute a successful spike. To achieve our
common goal of scoring a point, we communicated
effectively by using hand signals to indicate the type
of set required. We also maintained constant eye
contact, which helped us anticipate each other's
movements. By practicing active listening and being
open to feedback, we built trust and understanding,
which ultimately enhanced our interpersonal skills and
contributed to a successful spike.
2.
To enhance my performance in volleyball, I would
focus on improving my communication skills.
Specifically, I would work on being more vocal on the
court by calling for the ball, providing clear
instructions to teammates, and offering
encouragement and support. Additionally, I would aim
to become a better listener, actively taking in feedback
from my coach and teammates to understand how I
can improve and contribute more effectively to the
team.
3.
I created a plan to improve my serving accuracy by
incorporating regular practice sessions and seeking
guidance from my coach. I set specific objectives and
established a timeline to measure my progress. The
plan proved to be effective as I consistently dedicated
time to practicing serving drills and received valuable
feedback from my coach. I learned the importance of
setting clear goals, maintaining discipline in practice,
and seeking guidance from experienced individuals to
accelerate my skill development.
4.
In a recent volleyball game, my strengths were my
solid passing skills and my ability to provide accurate
sets to my teammates. I consistently delivered precise
passes and set the ball in positions that allowed my
teammates to execute strong attacks. However, one
area for improvement was my blocking technique, as I
struggled to time my jumps effectively. Despite this
weakness, I contributed to the team's success by
maintaining open communication, demonstrating
teamwork, and consistently delivering accurate
passes and sets.
5.
The plan to improve my serving accuracy was
effective overall. Regular practice sessions and
seeking guidance from my coach helped me refine my
technique and increase my accuracy over time. The
dedication and commitment to the plan yielded
positive results. However, I could have further
enhanced my progress by incorporating video analysis
of my serves and seeking additional feedback from
experienced players. These additional measures could
have provided more comprehensive insights for
improvement.
6.
In the future, I plan to continue improving my volleyball
skills by engaging in focused practice sessions and
seeking consistent feedback from my coach and
teammates. I will incorporate video analysis to gain a
better understanding of my technique and identify
areas for improvement. To measure my progress, I will
set specific goals related to various skills, such as
serving, blocking, and defensive techniques. By
tracking my performance in practice and games, I will
be able to gauge my progress and adjust my training
accordingly.
Thank you! (Myp task)
