FAMILIARISATION WITH RESISTANCE,CAPACITOR AND INDUCTOR

Aim:- familiarization with Resistance, Inductor and Capacitor

THEORY:-

1)RESISTOR:-

Resistor is a device that causes resistance that is opposes the flow of

current.

R=V/I (V= Voltage applied across resistor, I= Current flowing through

resistor)

2)CAPACITOR:-

A capacitor is a device which stores electrical energy in an electric field.

It form varies but usually has two conductors or plates separated by a
dielectric material. They were earlier known as condenser. Capacitors are
used in many electric circuits and unlike resistor they don’t dissipate
energy. Its S.I. unit is farad.

C=Q/V (Q=Charge stored, V=Voltage applied across it)

3)INDUCTOR:-

Inductor is known as a choke coil. It consists coil of wire and due

and therefore induces magnetic field in its itself and in its core due
to the current flowing through it. They are usually made by wrapping
wire to solid cylindrical rod or ring.

|e|=|Ldi/dt| (where E is emf induced, L is inductance and di/dt is rate

of current changed)

CONCLUSION:-Therefore through this experiment we became

familiar to resistance, Inductor and capacitor.
