Task 2:

In some nations, the number of individuals who curious about the background story of their
accommodation is rising. There has been a heated debate on what are the reasons for this trend. In
this essay, I shall elaborate on my point of view by outline some main reasons and ways to help
people in these regions to find out more about this matter.

First of all, it is quite reasonable for me to understand that nowadays, people are caring to improve
their living standard. In general, they care about healthcare, food intake as well as their house. To be
more specific, they are curious if their houses are well constructed or not when they were built. By
knowing the details about the past, people likely are able to reduce the risks of unsafety that they
would probably face in the future. Moreover, if the accommodation was built a long time ago,
replacement and maintenance would be necessary for new owners. For instance, many authorities
public the life expectancy of buildings is around 60 years, after that the building has to be repaired
or maintained.

On the other hand, one of the easiest and convenient way to research about any buildings is using
the Internet. It provides a huge number of general information regarding to construction site.
However, the best way to investigate about the background of the building is ask local residents who
have lived in the district for a long term. These local residents are witnesses themselves who then
become storytellers, and they have the most reliable information about the past of the entire
neighbourhood. For example, my friend found out more precisely information about her building
after talking to her long-term neighbours, all information that she could not find online as well as did
not be mentioned by her agency.

In conclusion, I believe that more people become more enthusiastic to figure out about their house’s
background because of their own safety reasons. Furthermore, there are several ways to research
about the building and choosing the correct measurement would help to learn deeper about the
topic that they are interested in.

Task 1:

The line charts demonstrate the significance change between the percentage of households that
using electrical applicants includes washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner and the
amount of time that people spent to do housework from 1920 to 2019. In general, the percentage of
people using electrical devices is dramatically rising throughout the years resulting in the drop in the
hours of housework per week in each household.

According to the given information, people started using refrigerator in 1920. The percentage of
people who used refrigerator went up from 0% to 100% in 60 years and remained the same till 2019.
The percentage of people who use vacuum cleaner also rise quickly from 30% to 100% between
1920 to 2019. For individuals who use washing machines, the amount is remained around 40% to
70%.

As a result of rising in the percentage of people who use electrical applicants in household, the
number of hours they spending to do housework has decreased dramatically from 50 hours per
week to 10 hours per week in 2019, which 5 times less than original hours in 1920.
