FIXED FOAM D-LMFM Technical Description

APPLICATION
 The LMFM-100M fog/jet monitor serves the purpose of throwing and spreading the
extinguishing agent; foam or water, to a particular remote area.

DESIGN
Although uncomplicated in construction, the LMFM-100M monitor provides great performance
combined with low weight and maneuverability. The unit is robust and requires minimal
maintenance.

The monitor with branch pipe has a very compact and light design. Stainless steel pipes welded in a
“Y”, is used for feeding the agent to the branch pipe. The branch pipe is fixed to the monitor and is
not subject to selection. Spray pattern is adjustable from fog to jet by the use of the handles on the
nozzle pipe, which slides outside the inner pipe.

O-rings are used to prevent leaks in joints and nozzle. Movement is performed by handles for
horizontal and vertical control.

Locking handles are used for fixing the elevation, rotation and the fog/jet position.

High grade materials are used in the production process, with grease filled stainless steel ball
bearings for elevation and rotation. All metal parts are made of stainless steel (AISI 316L).

The water capacity should be set on site by the commissioning engineer, adjusting the nozzle disc.

FUNCTION
The monitor is connected to fire line by a DIN/JIS or ANSI base flange.

The monitor is based on the traditionally “Y” shape, but with an exception of a much more compact
design, absorbing the reaction forces much better than an upright “Y”-design. The design is gone
through a thorough flow calculation “testing”, finding the most optimal water flow through the
monitor and nozzle.

FIXED FOAM D-LMFM Technical Description

The spray pattern (from jet to fog) is adjusted by use of the handles on the nozzle pipe.

Foam solution (foam and water mixed) is leaving the monitor in the shape of a hollow bar with
vacuum inside. This will aspirate air and produce foam.
