‫تلتزم املنظمة الدولية للهجرة‬ ‫ومن التحديات املرتبطة بالتدفقات املتزايدة للهجرة هي كيفية‬ ‫التعريف‪ ،‬واملستوى‪ ،‬واألهمية للتحويالت‬
‫مببدأ أن الهجرة املنظمة‬ ‫االستفادة االيجابية من فوائدها للبلدان األصلية والبلدان‬

‫الهجرة‪ ،‬وتشجيع التنمية‬ ‫جميع املدفوعات التي متت عن طريق التحويالت الغير الرسمية‪،‬‬ ‫املنظمة الدولية للهجرة فإن التحويالت املالية التي يحولها‬
‫االجتماعية واالقتصادية من‬ ‫غير مسجلة ضمن قنواتها املدرجة‪ ،‬فإن هذا الرقم قد يصل إلى‬ ‫املهاجرون لبالدهم األصلية إمنا تعرف على نطاق واسع بـ "احلواالت‬
‫خالل الهجرة‪ ،‬والعمل من اجل‬ ‫‪ 50%‬أكثر‪ .‬وغالبية تدفق التحويالت املالية هي من الشمال‬ ‫النقدية" التي يحولها املهاجرون إلى بالد هم األصلية‪ .‬وبعبارة‬
‫احترام كرامة اإلنسان والعيش‬ ‫إلى اجلنوب‪ ،‬ولكن ‪ 30‬إلى ‪ 45%‬من تدفق التحويالت املالية هي‬ ‫أخرى‪ ،‬هي التدفقات املالية املرتبطة بالهجرة‪ .‬ففي معظم األحيان‬
