university lecturer, with specialties in the operation and protection of electrical power systems.
Eight years of experience in academia has greatly sharpened my knowledge, intuition and
analytical skills (in electrical power systems), core skills requisite for executing the daily duties
& responsibilities of the energy efficiency engineer. As a passionate power system’s analyst, i
would appreciate the opportunity to deliver quality service world-wide.
In this light, my career objective is to excellence electricity network operations through offering
optimal & feasible solutions to various power system applications (using conventional & non-
conventional techniques), increase team-skills through skill-training, and maximizing
productivity efficiency of systems by engaging synergetic electrical power engineers.
I have the following capabilities to substantiate the functionality of the office of the energy
efficiency engineer:
• I am familiar with control center technicalities in the perspective of the principles of
automatic generation and frequency control (AGC & AFC) to operationalize electricity
power dispatch & maintenance scheduling, and load shedding.
• I can accentuate critical technical aspects that impact the operation and control of an
electricity market via sensitivity shift factors and load flow analyses, to account for energy
production, consumption & losses, outage of generation units (plant availability &
reliability), and congestion in a transfer path.
• I can ascertain the financial impacts (of various electricity market operations) hence risk
management using analyses such as the net present value (NPV), levelized cost of energy
(LCOE), price-based unit commitment & dispatch, spot / nodal pricing of energy markets,
and short-term price forecasting using linear regression.
• I understand the dynamics of current-day liberalized electricity markets that significantly
affect the operation and control of electricity power systems. Hence, i can model strategic
behaviour of various electricity market participants using microeconomic applications of
game theory and mechanism design.
• I can interpret and communicate intrinsic information from various international electrical
standards to initiate procedural on-the-job-behaviour that enhance a work culture of
progressive improvement in efficiency and safety of various power system operations.
• I can illustratively plan, schedule and perform resource allocations of various power system
operations and/or projects to execute a desired business strategy in a consistent and reliable
manner through my proficient use of MS Project, MS Excel and MS Visio, and power factory
software tools.
My enthusiastic and passionate personality of electrical power system operations can be shown
from a professional dimension; as being a registered graduate member of the engineer’s board of
Kenya (EBK) and the institute of electrical & electronic engineers (IEEE), power engineering
