The Flat Stanley Project was started by Dale Hubert in Ontario, Canada in 1994. It is similar to a pen pal program but the focus of student letters is what Flat Stanley and/or his at friends have done when visiting classrooms. This allows students a common creative element to write about. Participation is as easily as registering and nding someone on the Bulletin Board or List of Participants. Once registered there are many different ways
to participate from pen pals, pictures, or blogs. This is a great way for any grade level to work on writing skills and learning about different places both within the United States and around world. The Flat Stanley Project offers a structure which to base communications and a way to locate people interested from different areas in an easier manner. Check out the website and you might nd the classroom just right for you.
