8. Given that 𝑃𝑄𝑅𝑆 is a 16 × 9 rectangle. It is known that 𝑀𝑁 = 𝑅𝑇 = 3,
𝑃𝑁 = 𝐾𝑇 = 5. Iseng wants to dissect the rectangle according to the broken line
and arrange the pieces to form a square.
1. The scale in our class is set incorrectly but otherwise it functions well. It shows 28 kg
when Aji stands on it, 20 kg when Melia stands on it, but 44 kg when both Aji and Melia
stand on it.
What is the true weight of Aji?
3. The difference between a two digit number 𝑥𝑦, where 𝑥 > 𝑦 and 𝑦𝑥 (a two digit number
with the same digits but reverse the order) is 36.
List all possible number (𝑥𝑦) which satisfy this condition!
4. In the Gasing Shop, the price of each mathematics book is $10 (10 dollars). All titles have
the same price. The price of a note book is $1 (one dollar). The cost of pencils are $1
(one dolllar) for 6 pencils. Inem spent $100 (one hundred dollars) to buy exactly 100
items. Inem bought at least one piece of each item.
How many mathematics books did she buy?

5. Is there any positive integer 𝑛 that satisfy the following equation?
(𝑛 − 1) × (𝑛 − 3) × ⋯ × (𝑛 − 2017) = 𝑛 × (𝑛 + 2) × (𝑛 + 4) × ⋯ × (𝑛 + 2016)
6. A four digit number 𝑣𝑤𝑥𝑦, where all 4 digits are different and taken from the set
{1,2,3,4} satisfy the following conditions
7. What is the sum of the digits of the resulting number when you multiply the following:
99 ⋯ 99 × 88 ⋯ 88
9. In a mathematics test, the range of the score is from zero to a hundred. Kang Ono has an
average score of 75 after completing four test.
What is the lowest possible score he got in any one of the tests?
10. What is the largest number of right angles (90∘ ) an octagon (8 sides polygon) can
have? Draw one example of this polygon, write down the measure of each angle.
11. How many positive integers less than 20 cannot be written as the sum of two
prime numbers?

1. Triangle 𝑋𝑌𝑍 is an acute triangle. Point 𝑃 on 𝑋𝑌 such that 𝑋𝑃: 𝑃𝑌 = 1: 3. Point 𝑄
on 𝑋𝑍 such that 𝑋𝑄: 𝑄𝑍 = 2: 3.

2. A rectangular hall is divided into rooms as shown below. Every two adjacent
rooms are connected by door. You may walk from one room to another in the
north or east direction only.
a. How many different shortest routes are there from room P to room Q?
b. Now room R is locked at all four doors and the keys were lost. So nobody can
go through that room.
How many different shortest routes are there from room P to room Q?
6. Linglung likes reading books. The number of books that he has is less than 60
books. He has mathematics, science, literature, and art books. The number of
science, literature, and art books each is a prime number. There were as many
mathematics books as the number of science books multiplied by the total number
of art and science books. There are 24 more mathematics book than literature
books.
What is the total number of books that Linglung has?

7. Dino has six bags of candies. Each bag has different number of candies: 3, 9, 10,
12, 13, and 14 candies. Dino gave one bag to Tensin. Dino gave the remaining bags
to Edun and Gani. The total number of candies that Edun received was twice as
many as the total number of candies that Gani received.
How many bags does Edun get and how many candies in each Edun’s bag?
9. A ‘happy’ set is a set of 4 consecutive numbers, each below 100 , that are divisible
by 10 when you add all 4 numbers. List of possible set of happy set.
Explain why you think you have find all happy sets!
10. Each member of the COSMOS maths club is assigned a unique code. Each code
consists of 3 letters, which is taken from the set {𝑀, 𝐴, 𝑇, 𝐻}, {𝐹, 𝑈, 𝑁}, and
{𝐿, 𝑂, 𝑉, 𝐸, 𝑆}, in that order. The club needs to accomodate new members, so the
officials of the club decide to add two new letters (𝑋 and 𝑌). Both new letters can
be added to one particular set or one letter can be added to one set and one to
another set.
What is the largest possible number of new members can be assigned additional
unique codes (that contains new letter(s)) ?
