1 Laboratory Requirement

Please see assigned topics below:

The group will make a pamphlet for the topic that is assigned to your group which includes the
following:

1) Vulnerable population – who are readily infected (children, those in institutions, etc.)
– 10 pts

2) Route of infection (How does one acquire the parasite?) – Not the life cycle.
- e.g. ingestion of fecally contaminated food and drinks which contains the infective form
(specific), inhalation, sexual intercourse, etc.
- 10 pts

3) Symptoms – please use terms that are readily understandable by a person who does not know
about any of these parasites
- 10 pts

4) Prevention and control – sanitary disposal of human wastes, etc.

5) Treatment – drugs, prolonged treatment, how long, etc.

6) Prognosis – if treated and if not treated

7) Geographical location – endemicity in the Philippines (specific region, city, etc.), Asian
countries (specific), Africa, etc.

which can be useful to a community. The group is only allowed one page back to back.
