It is generally believed that governments only have the authority to deal

with the significant environmental issues facing our modern world. From
a personal perspective, I disagree with that statement and I believe that
both individuals and government agencies are responsible for preserving
the planet.
On the one hand, it is true that the government has the ability to deal
with environmental issues. Politicians can ask the government to enact
new regulations against harm to the environment. For instance, the
excessive use of plastic products and the emission of waste to the
environment is one of the main causes of environmental pollution, and
this may be stopped if the government officially bans all businesses from
manufacturing plastic products and waste to nature. As a result, the
government can prevent many business from harming the natural
environment such as the ocean and rivers. In addition, by investing and
creating funds for sustainable infrastructure such as renewable energy
factories, the government can create an eco-friendly environment for the
resident and reduce the carbon footprint on a national scale.
However, I believe that people ought to be held responsible for
preserving the environment. First, individuals may contribute to
environmental protection in a number of ways, such as by recycling
more, and increasing the number of trees in their gardens. Additionally,
people in many countries have now shifted towards using bicycles and
public transportation rather than a personal vehicle for daily
transportation, which has so far significantly decreased the quantity of
CO2 produced into the atmosphere and improve air quality.
In conclusion, governments should take responsible for environmental
issues. However, I believe that individual actions are essential to the
process of problem-solving.
